Last year, American Idol suffered a significant ratings hit. The seventh season premiere of the Fox reality show was at an all-time low, an overall ratings for the entire season were down 10 percent.
To prevent the show from slumping any further, Idol execs have added Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi to the mix and judge Simon Cowell has hinted that there will be "big changes" occurring during the season that will make the show "more interesting and controversial."

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I love american idol it is such a great show simon is the best part actually the chemistry between the judges makes it more than just a singing show and throwing a new judge in will be bad. I think it didnt get as good ratings last year because of the time slot it was on duHHHHHH
yeah...i still love american idol. Its just that its getting to go on the SEVENTH! season so i think that people are just not as excited as the first...or second...or third...lol jk? but its just an opionon
I liked last year kind of, but the best was the Carrie/Bo season. The year Taylor Hicks won was really bad. I guess Im kinda over it, but it depends on the variety of people that sing. It is fun having people you dont like, because you love to hate them. But it is also good to have a favorite, to vote for and look foward to. IDK. I will watch this year, but if it gets bad, Ill stop 4 sure.

I love Archuleta and Jason Castro. Archie should have won and will be 100 times more successful than Cook.

I liked it last year with Jason Castro. I dont want a new judge. And I think that having another girl will make it go down because it was fun having Paula. She is my favorite judge.

I really don't want another judge on AI. I've been watching since season 6, when I fell in love with Blake Lewis, and I still watched season seven, and got a lot more involved with it after seeing David Cook's audition, haha. But I think it will just be weird to have a fourth judge. So yeah, maybe it's getting old, but there's still a lot more fans.
And besides, we can't have another girl judge. All we need is Paula...very very entertaining Paula...who makes me wonder what's in that coke cup =P
