it really depends on who I like most of the boys i liked were my friends so we talked all the time. At my school dances we dont play slow songs. But even if we did I would be to emberressed to ask my crush.

I've learned that guys are really just shy and its nice if you give them a little push. our school dances don't really have slow dances, and they always play like all the new songs. and people don't really dance. Yes, I did once. It came out really well actually. I was in 8th grade, he was in 9th. Ray was my love at first sight. When I first saw him, it was in the auditorium, we were waiting for the drama teacher who was organizing this huge show for the 100th anniversary of the school. Only sixteen students from all junior-high were chosen to participate, and I was lucky enough to qualify.
At first, I wasn't sure about making the first move. I just didn't know how. He didn't seem intrested in me, at all, so I decided to wait. One day during lunch, I was heading to the auditorium for morning rehearsal, and there he was, sitting on the stairs that lead into the stage, eating.
Ok, If this guy wouldn't even turn to see me, I had to show him I DID exist... -Salad! Oh my gosh!- I said aloud. His head turned in my direction. "Perfect!" I thought.
-Do you want some?- He asked politely. -OMG yea!- I held both of my hands out so he would place some salad. That's what he did but he started overdoing it. -What are you thinking of?!? Ray... Stop it! It's gonna fall!- It eventually fell down, and my skirt got stained. I was playing mad at him, telling him he would pay for it, and that I wasn't going to forgive him ever.
Right after that, I started to notice great interest in me from his part. He was always talking with me and the friends I had inside the auditorium during the rehearsals, and I remember the day we all went to the movies; how he always tried to get my attention one way or the other, and how he got to sit by my side just by coincidence. Little by little, we got closer together, we got to know each other really well, and, one month after the show, we started officially dating, and one month after, he asked me out. He's really a great guy, never pushed me into things, I didn't have to be worrying about him because he respected me and my body. He has never been into alcohol, drugs or smoking, he's really gorgeous and even wrote a song for me on guitar. We've been together for 5 years now and he's told me that he started liking me the day I shouted for the "Salad!", and I don't regret, EVER making the first move.

I really don't have to worry about it I am asked almost as soon as I walk into the room I have made the first move a couple of times and I am never rejected guys just pray that they get to dance with me
the last dance i went to i almost had to make the first move. but then my friends told him that i was going to but when the slow song came he came up to me and asked me to dance. i said yes and he told me that my friends told him that i was going to ask him and i told him the truth that i was thinking about it.
Me and my friends at that dance were dancing and not caring what anyone else thought of it and we were having the night of our life and it was really great.
I refuse to make the first move! The guys should be the ones to do that just because majority of girls get really shy, nervous, and/or giggly.
I probably wouldn't, because a guy will let you know if he likes you or not, so why embarrass yourself by letting a guy know that you like him? He may not like you back, or worse he could use that against you and make you a last resort if he can't get a date. That would just make you look both lame, and desperate.

I made the move with one of my best friends. I just recently started to fall in love with one of my best friends and i didnt know if i should tell him or not because i didnt want it to ruin our friendship. There was a Sadie Hawkens Dance coming up at my school and i wanted to go and have a date, so i did something bold. I asked my best friend, and he said yes. I was soooo excited and he kept giving me mixed signals so it seemed like he wanted to be more than just best friends. A couple days after the dance i told him that i loved him and he told me that he just wanted to stay friends.
It seems like I have to make the first move ALL the time. I don't know, it's like the guys are oblivious to your outright flirting when everyone within five miles can tell that you're head over heels for him. And it's not until they find out like a month later that they actually start flirting back with you and you're all on the enge and just want to kiss them by then.
