J-14 recently sat down with Demi Lovato to talk about her new Disney Channel show, Sonny With A Chance which premieres February 8.
J-14: What is Sonny With A Chance about?
Demi: Sonny With A Chance is a show about a girl who gets to be on her favorite TV show. She comes to Hollywood (she's from Wisconsin), so she's kind of like this Beverly Hillbilly-type girl.
J-14: What's with the bee costume we keep seeing you in?
Demi: The bee costume was for one of the sketches. It's a show about a sketch show and in one of the sketches I was a bee that rapped.
J-14: Do you have any secrets from the show you can share?
Demi: Well, there is a love interest on the show.
J-14: Can you share who he is?
Demi: He's played by Sterling [Knight].
J-14: What is your favorite thing to eat or drink on set?
Demi: I'm a big tea drinker. You always see me with a water bottle in my hand or a cup of chamomile tea with honey, or green tea.

OK. My friends from school just try to take my mind off this, but I just want to talk about it. I want to tell you something about my parents divorce. I HATE my stepdad. He is anger managment everyday, sometimes gets drunk, and he swears a lot. It is so hard because I mostly live with him and my mom. And he yells at me sometimes if I barely do anything. When I tell my mom, she cuts me off and just says, "Oh he's trying", when I really dont think he is. She wont talk to me about it. I always try to confront her but she wont listen. And my real bros and sisters and mom or dad dont get to hang out by ourselves a lot. We have asked my mom if we could go somwhere and not have our step-siblings come, but she always just says "Going places will make you like them more" when it just makes me hate them more. They are really annoying and I dont like them one bit. Ive tried to see the good but I dont see any. I just want to have one real family at home. But it can never be that way. My dad is just always at work. At least my step-mom tries. She isnt my favorite person in the world, but its good to know that when I say she tries she really is. She is getting better, but she isnt my mom. And one of my step sisters always messes something up, and she is younger than me. I am supposed to watch her, but I can never control her!! She always breaks something or ruins something and my step dad gets mad at me for not watching her. My mom Im pretty sure knows it isnt my fault but acts like it is cuz she is scared of my dad. Its bad.
Wow Bailey. Everything will turn out right. Dont worry. I can totally see where you wouldnt see any good. It is really hard to find postive in those situations. The reason I say this is because there is no possible way you, by yourself, can change this. Im sorry I dont mean to make things worse, but its not you that can change him. That was your moms choice to marry him. So she might be seeing something good about him that you dont see.
I know he isnt your dad, but you might, and I repeat MIGHT see something. Maybe hes funny, or really good at something fun or cool. I dont know. And yes, if your step mom is trying you should be nice to her to, even if you dont like her. About your younger step sister, that is just plain stupid. Your mom is scared of your step dad. Well she might act like she cant hear you or say that youre wrong, but down deep she knows. And you MUST confront her about the whole being scared of him thing. There is NO exuse for that. NONE. If she yells at you about this I give you permission to yell at me through this. LOL!!! I know that people tell you not to do this, but this is what I would do anyway: If your step dad yells at you again for something you didnt do, I would just tell him you know what hes doing. And that you dont care. That he can blame you for everything he wants, but your mom will notice it more, and he might realize what he does when you say that. He might actually try to stop. I know that it sux, even though I havent personally gone through this. But it sounds hard. You might think things arent perfect, but things are fine.
Something perfect will happen, and at that time you wont care who is there or where you are. What you want is right infront of you. You just need to get the courage to reach out and get it. What this means in this case is that you dont want any of your step people to bother you anymore. Then dont let them. It sounds hard, but you will be able to do it. You arent some wimp, Bailey, you can get through this. I know you can. Your better then him and all your step siblings. You are the better person in this. But remember, this goes both ways. You are somebodys step sister. You all hate each other. But there is no war unless you make it that competitive. Just dont say those exact words. I KNOW you wont say this, but here is just some quote our gym teacher made us memorize: Treat everyone with politness, even those who are rude, not because they are nice, but because you are. It sounds like Im getting off subject, but these things can be used in all situations. Another one is this: Positive thinking wont let you do everything, but it lets you do anything better than negitive thinking will. Now we are a little off subject, but think of all the things you wouldnt get to do if you didnt have them. Wow sorry long post, its just that I really want to help you.......I heard divorces are really hard.
im so happy about seeing Sonng With A Chance! im even happier to know what demi lovato says while enterviewing her! i wish i could meet demi lovato in person i NEVER met someone famouse in person before, i would be so so happy and happier that demi lovato might be my first.

This is what me and my sibs sometimes do. Just ask them to come hang in your room for a little bit or something. Or this is what you do. Wow Bailey that really sux.....but dont worry, things will get better! Just have fun with your life and dont pay attention. If you see a fight coming or seeing something about to happen with your stepdad, do anything! Go on here, call a friend, go to a movie, anything! Just try to mimimze your battles for later. Thats my advice!

Bailey, I just got another idea from what Ty said about your mom needing to listen to you. This is NOT very genuis at all, but it could work. When she cuts you off just just keep talking. But the result in this could go either way.....she could actually realize how you really dont like this, or she could get more mad. I really dont know. Last night I was still at my moms house instead of going to my dads. And my step dad got drunk again. I HATE when that happens. He has to be stupid and we all suffer. He acts like some crazy drug addict and it can be really scary. I went into my moms room where she was, and before I started talking she was just like, "Bailey, I dont wanna hear it." It is SOOOO annoying! I know I am making this sound really bad. It isnt as bad as I am making it seem, but it is pretty bad. And he was soo crazy he took 4 pills of whatever it was, and is even crazier with all that medication in him. How do I deal with this?? I cant anymore. It is too hard. Im thinking about asking my mom if I can live at my dads during the week and live with her on the weekends. But I dont want to hurt her feelings......
HI! Okay, Bailey, you should DEFINETLY tell her what you want. If it hurts her feelings...I don't mean to be short,but who the heck cares if you ask me. She should listen to you 'cause you're a pretty awesome dudette. If she is your mom and she loves you she will let you do what she thinks is best for you.
I totally think you should tell her where you want to live. If she finds out you don't want to live with her for the weedays than maybe she'll change.....

Bailey, I totally know what you are talking about. It is soo hard. But from what I have learned, is that you REALLY need to tell your mom where you want to live. I totally agree with Ty. She might realize how bad this is. Ive learned that no matter how akward things may be, sometimes telling someone is the only way out.
It CAN be extremely hard, but you MUST tell her. She sounds like she is completely blind to what is going on. From what I can see of your step dad, there is no simple solution. It is probs better for you to live with your dad and step mom. And I bet your real bros and sises feel the same way, so dont just do it for you, do it for all of you. Be the brave one, Bailey! Ive seen people have to be the brave one, and Im sure you have to. And you look at them like "I wish I could do that". We all think that. So now, be that person. Its your turn to step up to the plate. And if she doesnt listen to you.....I dont know. When you are at your dads house one weekend, tell him you want to live with him the weekdays, and he might speak to your mom about that. Because it sounds to me like he is different, and you will live an easier life. You will be glad you asked Bailey!! Hope this helps!! I know how you feel....

I told my mom about 2 hours ago that I want to stay at my dads during the weekdays, and she at first wouldnt listen to me. But then I just told her. I didnt stop talking. So she said she talked to me and all my other brothers and sisters that wanted to live there. They all said that they want to live there with me. The look on her face I wished I NEVER said it. She said she would talk to my dad about it. So Im guessing Ill be living there. It is only about a mile away from my moms house, so Ill still be close. I THINK that Ill be living there. Ok, Im glad that you think its the right decision Ty and Sarah. We are going to my dads house this Saturday. Its not that far away from my moms house. My mom has been soo short lately. I came home from school and she didnt even look at me. She is sooo mad. She doesnt understand. I cant believe that I am about to say this, but I think, just think, that my mom married my step dad just because she wanted to be with someone. I really dont think I should get this personal about my moms stuff, but from all the stuff Ive been through, Im not going by her rules anymore. Well, my dad was getting re-married before she even had a bf. But then when she found out, the next week she had a bf. And none of us were very thrilled about it. Then the marriage. My worst nightmare. They were moving into my house, and I have only met my step dad at the time. So all these stranger kids were moving into my house. It was really akward for me. I still have my own room and everything, but still. You know how in movies they always say "I must be dreaming?" Well, I have never thought that before the day that they were moving in came. I was hoping that it was a dream. I just wanted to wake up. But I knew that I couldnt change it. My step dads kids live with him, which is not safe at all. He is crazy. He is a crazy person. He has anger issues, and he was screaming the f word and everything around the house, slamming things, throwing newspapers, and it is really scary to me. I cant wait to move out, where I will never be forced to hear or see it again. But my step siblings that are at my dads house..........huuuuuu. I told you how I felt when those idiots moved into my house.......now its gonna be the other way around. I am going to be that other person. And I dont even know those people as well. And, a scary thing happened. Lets just say, a half sister is coming. My mom is pregnant. Nightmare #2 has come. Things have been terrible, but I have always wondered when nightmare 2 would come. Now it has. Ugh.. Sorry about this long, boring comment. My life REALLY isnt as bad as it sounds when I write these things. Its only cuz I tell you about the down sides. My parents were divorced when I was 10. I remember hearing those fights at the top of the staircase. I just opened my door, and heard it. But I NEVER in a million years thought it would come to this. I always thought I knew things would be fine, they were just arguing like a lot of parents do. Now, this. Ill be fine. At my dads house things will go a lot better.

And once again like Ty said, if she is your mom and loves you, she will do whats best for you. She is probs so worried about how you will be. Im really sorry if this makes things worse, but she may be living with all of your step sibs, but you and your real sibs will always come first and foremost. You are her real daughter, and she would rather live with you than anyone else. And your step dad. Im sorry, but he just sounds like he is a complete loser. Im going to agree with you on that. This experiance made you stronger, Bailey. You CAN and WILL get through this. You know what you need to do, you know how to do it, its just the matter OF doing it. And dont feel bad.
