Today, Summit Entertainment confirmed the names of new cast members who will be starring in the Twilight sequel, officially called The Twilight Saga: New Moon, along with returning cast members Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, and Nikki Reed -- and previously announced addition Dakota Fanning.
The newly cast wolf pack will be played by Native American/First Nation actors Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, and Tyson Houseman. In New Moon, the wolf pack will protect humans from the vampires.
All of the wolf pack cast is of Native decent: Chaske is Lakota (Sioux), Bronson is Cree-Metis, Alex is Purepecha (Tarasco), Kiowa is Hualapai, and Tyson is Cree (and he got the part from an open casting call!). They were cast by Rene Haynes, who also cast Dances with Wolves and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
Additionally, Edi Gathegi who played Laurent in the first film says there's a new cast member he's SO thrilled about -- but can't say yet! So stay tuned for more exciting casting info!
Who do you hope will get cast in The Twilight Saga: New Moon?
