Zac Efron will no longer be in the 2010 re-make of Footloose! Rumors have it the HSM hottie pulled out to avoid becoming typecast, since he's already known for his singing and dancing (HSM, Hairspray).
"While Zac in no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of [HSM turned Footloose director] Kenny Ortega, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who will reinvigorate the franchise," Paramount Pictures says.
A replacement for Zac has not been released.

The original footloose was awesome. I am not so sure about the new one. I don't think Zac would have been a good main character for it. I am actually kinda glad that he is not going to be in it now. They better pick a really good actor for that awesome part.
