I get it. Kris Allen is cute. He has fluffy brown hair, spiked oh-so-perfectly. He has puppy brown eyes and strong forearms that flex when he plucks his acoustic guitar strings or when he's manning the piano. He's also humble, genuine, and overall very sweet. I GET IT -- he's Adorable (with a capital A even!)
I also understand that he is talented! I appreciate American Idol's new(ish) take on what a good musician is: someone that actually PLAYS instruments and possibly even knows how to write music. With singer/songwriters like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga at the top of the charts, it's about time that Idol started celebrating this "trend" -- and Kris is the perfect poster boy for the campaign.
But even with his charm, his sweet melodic voice, and his musical abilities, I don't think he is a star. An "artist," (as Kara has been saying over and over), sure! But if you want to see a superstar -- American Idol win or not -- it's Adam Lambert.
While Kris makes me nostalgic for ex-boyfriends that have serenaded me with Jack Johnson in the past, or local open mic nights, or the dreamy Jason Mraz, Adam leaves me speechless. There's nothing already on my iPod that will satisfy my fix for more Adam! And when someone on the show has made a comparison, they're pinning Adam next to rock LEGENDS. As Paula pronounced, Adam is "iconic."
After watching Kris take the crown as Adam gracefully accepted second place, I think it's odd that we have been dubbing him the "underdog." Really? Maybe he wasn't everyone's first pick (although I know he had a lot of fans in this office), but is it really a big shock that a nice Arkansas boy who plays great covers won American Idol? Where was the adversity that he had to overcome? That people (and the judges) preferred Danny Gokey over him originally? Yawn! Adam had to work past a hateful campaign attacking his personal life circling the Internet and certain media outlets -- talk about tough!
Our votes are at least some part emotional. While there were some that loved or hated the contestants' singing abilities, there were people that hated Adam for something deeper than his American Idol performances. I voted for Adam all along because I thought he was the most talented. But if he had garnered the most votes in the end, my heart would have been warmed in a way it wasn't while I watched our supposed "underdog" Kris take home the grand prize. With Adam, it would have been a different victory, with winnings more valuable than a record contract.
Where are my Adam fans? Were you guys sad he didn't win yesterday? And who do you think will have a better career after Idol?

I am totally on Adam's side!!!! I screamed at the top of my lungs (in a bad way) yesterday when he didn't win! He totally deserved to. I think, personally, that he didn't win because he is somewhat "gothic". Adam still has a better chance of success because he can actually sing.

Jeez! Um, okay, Adam wasn't THAT good. He could never replace the iconic Freddie Mercury, because he took risks and did new stuff with his music.
Not that same stupid high-pitched screaming that Adam ALWAYS did on AI. And Adam always recieved praise for that! He was Simon's favorite, and rarely got critizied.
Kris, on the otherhand, took risks and became an ARTIST. You're not artist when you do the same thing EVERY performance. Take Kris's 'Heartless' performance, for example, he took that rap song and turned it into a humble pop song.
Bottom line, Adam is 70's/80's glam rock, Kris is a current pop singer. America wants someone who is an artist. And that's Kris.
I think that Danny really should have won, he is such a good role model and he is a strong Christian.
I really think Kris was much better and he really does sing well.
Adam is really freaky and I would hate to be around him. He sings like a girl (which i personally think is freaky) and he dresses up way to goth and flashy. I have to say he is a really bad role model and he even got caught kissing his boyfriend. Now thats just weird!

Adam should have won!!!! He was so unique, had an awesome voice and great personality. It bugged me so much that some people didn't vote for him because he's gay; who cares!?!?!? He can like WHOEVER he wants. I know a friend of mine was rooting for him the whole way, until she figured out he was gay, then she decided she didn't like him; cause "she doesn't like gays" THAT BUGGED ME SOOOO MUCH! But oh well, they're both great singers, but i think Adam will go farther and Kris will just be another pretty boy (which he definitely is!!) It would be awesome to have Adam on your cover, or both Kris and Adam (you may want both of them so it doesn't cause a big "thing" with Kris lovers.)

Mkay. Adam is all great and belts his notes good but--hey. He's ALREADY on Broadway. And since he didn't win he can still go back to that opportunity. I liked Adam and Kris. The reason that Adam didn't win was because he was gothic and rumours circled that he was gay. That's not fair! Ok, I am a fan of Kris, and I'm not saying this just because I am. Look at it this way, when you win Idol, you are locked own with Idol's record company for a year. From what I heard you don't get alot of input, you have some , but not alot. That was why Kelly Clarkson wasnt really her with her first album. Some winners get a good album out of it but others not really. I was worried when David Cook won last year, that the company wouldn't let him be hiself, but his album turned out pretty great.
Now answer this question and truly think about it, Would you want Adam Lambert to be locked down for a year, with his company, with some creative input? OR have an album with alot of creative input.
