Nick Jonas had a very busy 24 hours in Washington, D.C.! Despite being on tour with his brothers, Nick took a break and headed to the capital for a very good cause -- and a quick visit with President Obama.
Though he's already met the president's daughters, Malia and Sasha -- during the girls' first night in the White House! -- on Tuesday, Nick finally got to meet the President himself. Nick said he was excited for his first meeting with our nation's leader.
And today, Nick got down to business. In town to lobby for government funding on diabetes research, Nick spoke to the U.S. Senate straight from his heart. "My life depends on it," Nick said. "All our lives depend on it." Nick suffers from Type 1 diabetes, and he's been very outspoken in his fight against diabetes and his hope for a cure.
Tonight, Nick will meet back up with his brothers for their show in Dallas and to celebrate one awesome feat - Lines, Vines and Trying Times just became their second #1 album in less than a year! Phew -- Nick is one busy guy!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NICK JONAS!!! I think that it is great that he is taking time out of his busy schedule to help raise awarness of diabetes. My mom has it so i cant imagine what it is like for nick and his busy life. Just another reason he is a great role model and an awesome person to look up to.

I think Nick is doing an amazing job!!! My Grandpa and Uncle just passed away from diabetes, and my cousin has juvenile diabetes. Both of his kidneys have stopped working and he is now waiting on a transplant.
I am so thankful for what Nick is doing for the research in Juvenile diabetes. His determination gives me hope for the future!!! "A Little Bit Longer" is a family favorite!!! I wish him all the best in the future with his music career, and his diabetes!!

Nick Jonas helped my best friend to ecpept having diabeties. For some reason,my best friend, Amber, didnt want people to know she had diabeties. She is cheer captain so I think she thought she would get teased or something. Nick showed that anyone can have diabeties and you are still a human being. Thank You Nick Jonas!
That's a really busy day. I think it's great that he stays busy, never letting his diabetes slow him down. My mom has it, diagnosed at three, and it slows her down. We were talking and saying one day it will be no problem at all.

I don't exactly know how Nick is raising support about diabetes, but he sure has gotten more people involved for a cure because he speaks about it in public, and many people listen to him. I hate to say this, but the senate would never let a unhealthy president rule. They still have guidelines. I'm not saying Nick is not eating healthy but diabetes limits your ability to do functions especially when you get older. Unless he is president by 25 yrs old. Older people with Type 1 diabetes is unlikely to be president.

Wow Nick! Hopefully you can help find a cure for diabetes because I have been living with type one diabetes for almost a year now and its hard! I was 12. Now a year later, I still dont have the pump! I bet you hav been through tougher times because you have had it Longer than me! It is Double trouble for me! I hav to Juggle School , My Dentist Stuff , family Problems, Stress and Diabetes at the same time! I also hav anger issues. Its hard as Heck....and sad. But nick, i am happy wat u are doing for us, diabetics. Hopefully one day they find a cure and we can live a normal life again. I also am thankful for your music, which a little bit longer, when i first listened to it....It made me cry and it still does today! You, Nick Jonas, and your brothers, are the best thing that ever happened to me!

OMG! I love Nick Jonas! He inspires me to write the music that I do and not be afraid of what people might think. I think it's awesome that he was in Washington fighting for this. it just shows you that he cares about this so much. He's not going to sit back and do nothing. Also, I love the new album. i think nick jonas would make a great president for this country or any country really. my brother also has diabetes and has his own band that he manages and plays in for in the houston area. he's really busy like nick all the time. plus my brother has a job and is trying to land a role in a new tv show.

After I read that nick was fighting for a cure in diabetes, I cant help but support that cause. I guess I can see nick's point of view from a secondary position, because my dad has diabetes. It's kind of hard knowing that someday when I am older I might lose my dad to something different from natural causes. He was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 14, my age, which really scares me. He was only supposed to live about ten years as he told me, which would mean he should have died around 24, now he is around 45. He is a nurse practitioner which gives him an advance in knowledge about this, which makes you hope. Just think, once they find a cure to diabetes, next up would be cancer!
I think Nick would be a good leader for our country. He knows wat the world really needs. And that's a type of person we need as president.Its also a good thing Nick is speaking out about finding a cure for diabetics b/c its hard but like Nick said don't never let it slow u down in to reaching for ur dreames.
