J-14ers, we hear you - sometimes school is rough! There are rules, dress codes, the list of things you're not allowed to do probably feels like it goes on and on! Not to mention how all of the rules change at home once the summer is over and you're back in class.

i think its unfair when you have to put ducktape over a hole in your pants thats above the knees. and the only teachers that really pay attention to that stuff are the guy teachers.
Like, i understand the no pda rule, no one wants to see people making out in the hallways. but my friend and i were just locking our arms and walking and the principal was like "no physical contact." i think we should be able to touch each other, just not in a harmful or sexual(or whatever) way.
there is plenty of pda n holes above knees at my school, so i guess compared to some it's pretty lenient, but what i hate are the hall sweeps!!! for any of u who don't know, hall sweeps is when they lock u out of ur classroom and slam the door on u as soon as the bell rings and they round up all the late kids n give them after school detention.... it's rlly stupid not to mention rude. me n my friend got swept for being late to lunch.... LUNCH!!! ridiculous. we were so close n they just slamed the door on us..... n get this, we were late cause we used the bathroom, but do they care?? no!! it's like teachers have no feelings and don't remember being kids at all!!!!
At one school that one of my friends goes to they have to wear the school shirt (navy blue with collar and school logo on it), long khaki skirts with either a brown or blue belt, and either brown, black, or blue shoes!! INSANE!!! They're not allowed to wear any big jewelry, and nothing in their hair except plain hair bands! What sort of torture school is this!?

We HAVE to wear a uniform not just any uniform though an ANKLE length skirt !!! Seriiously ANKLE length? Its ridiculous and we arent allowed to straighten/flat iron our hair! The rule about tucking your shirt into your pants and having to wear a belt. Who wants to wear your shirt tucked in with a belt? None of us! If you don't follow this rule, you have to do to ISS (In School Suspension) Eeep!

I think that the dress code rule is really unfair. We should be allowed to wear whatever we want, as long as it's not too revealing. Oh, and the whole TAKS test(that what we call it in Texas) is really unfair because our grades throughout the year should be what counts, and not what we made on one stupid test. The other stupid thing is when your late to class, they give you ISS. (In School Suspension) Even if it's your first time!!!!
I hate our dress code! We can't wear shorts that are shorter than our finger tips but of course people wear like underware and don't get caught! And then you have the people that wear longer shorts and they get caught!

Hmmm, well it seems as though compared to other schools our school is pretty lenient. We do have uniforms though since we are a private school but we don't have to tuck in our shirts or wear a belt even though we used to in elementary & middle school. I just don't like that when we have free dress we can't wear shorts shorter than fingertip length and we can't wear spaghetti straps or tube tops. I also don't like homework :P it sucks.
I don't like dress code.You know, the whole shorts to your fingertips,no spaghetti straps,or holy pants.It's really retarded.Now it's summer and we have a gifted class camp.Today I wore shorts above my fingertips and the pricipal was there and I got ISS for next year even though we're not in school!Or when they slam doors in your faces when your like 30 seconds late.We don't really have homework so I can't complain.Also i think it's ridiculous when your walking side by side with your boyfriend and they say you get across the hall and you on the other side.My Godness!It makes me soooo angry.

The guidance counselor at my school is EVIL! Sometimes, if we speak too loud at lunch, she'll make us eat in silence. Once, I said hi to my friend in the hallway and she gave me a detention warning!

At my school, the dress code is unfair. Especially since we have uniforms. Well, I'm kinda okay with the uniforms (since all the gang issues) but at least they should let us fix up the uniforms however we want to! They don't let us put accessories on, we have to tuck in our shirts, we have to have specific shoe color, we have to wear a specific belt color, and specific sweater. We should at least wear accessories or something!
Also, whats unfair is that they give us too much work. We're still kids! We should have fun and have our time! 'Cause once we're older, we won't have the free time because we're gonna have a job!
ok so i have this HORRIBLE teacher and the class before i have her our teacher lets us listen to our ipods (yayz!) and my locker is far away from ALL my classes so i keep my ipod in my pocket and if she even SEES like a part of one of the headphones she'll take it away untill the end of the YEAR and every summer she has a garage sale so we have to go to her house and BUY our ipods back for like $300!!!!! its never happened to me but it happened to one of my friends and when she went to her house she said her DOG CHEWED IT UP and she STILL had to pay $150!!! and i have another teacher well actually its a sub and she said when we were finished with our work to work on other work and when one of my friends was working on other work she YELLED at her for working on other work and i was like r u srs?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! and then she said all the rules that took like ten minuites and a guy in my class was like "yes ma'am" at the end and she was like "wat did u just say to me and maid him sit in the hall!!!! the dress code rules are soo ahhhh-nnoying!!! i understand that they don't want us to look like strippers and stuff like that but it gets sooo hot! i think that they should ease up a little bit on the rules. i'm not saying let us wear a bikini to school or anything major like that just maybe an inch or two shorter for shorts and skirts because it's sooo hard to find the "right length." My friend and I were in class, and she got an answer wrong and she YELLED at her and told her if she got another one wrong she would fail her class and if I talked one more time i would fail her class. That is not fair at all , my minor behavior problems should never effect my grade. Well I go to Reynoldsburg High School, which is in Columbus/ Reynoldsburg, Ohio. This is a public city school and we don't live in a nice city or anything I mean Columbus is quote unquote what people would call "ghetto" and our dress code is way to strict for a public city school. This dress code has only been intact for two school years. Hear it is: black, navy blue, or khaki pants- no holes. can only be one size smaller or larger than your actual size. purple, yellow, or white polo shirts or oxfords ONLY. can ONLY have two or less buttons undone. Shirts must be tucked in. If your pants have belt loops you must wear a belt. ID must be on at all times. No flip flops. No piercings other than ears. NO chains.
NOTE: purple and gold are school colors.
along with this ridiculous dress code there are many other dumb rules. you only have 4 minutes to get to class. if you ALMOST not even actually get into a fight, you get taken out of school is the school officers handcuffs, which are PINK, the officer is a girl.. you also get suspended. And many, many other stupid rules at RHS.

well they are just so strict and i don't think that's good because people need to have a little bit of room to be different. but at my school there is only 1 way of doing things. also the "pants must be below fingertips rule" not that i would wear really short skirts or shorts just that i have long arms! i think the teachers should have limits too. they took a journal/diary thing a student had written and told everyone who had written it and them the whole class read it! i think that's pushing the limit!also, homework! we spend at least three hours a night then we study at least an hour of Spanish, and an additional 2 hours for tests. (usually three TESTS a week. three quizzes too). except when the end of the term comes around it can go up to three a day. too stressful! especially when you have extracurricular activities! (i do acting dancing volley ball and singing.) plus chior every other day. it stinks : ( but something i like about it is that we get a fifteen minute free-period to do whatever we want on the gorgeous campus! also, there are one or two teachers that are so nice, it doesn't matter if you hate the subject, you'll luv the class!
i don't think it's fair that some kids can't chew gum in class, i also don't get why we have to have uniforms i mean kids dont get to express their inner self. there is a LOT MORE TOO...TOO MUCH TO SAY

The fact we have to wear uniforms no matter where we move to in town. Yes its for all public schools around here. Hmm what else..I got moved to a portable classroom in the first 9 weeks and I lost all of my friends...now im probably the biggest dork in the grade when I used to be popular. Seriously ppl all the time ask me if im new and who are you. When students call roll before the teacher comes ppl say "who is" followed by my name in a very questioned voice. So so annoying and unfair. Oh yeah, we have to wear theese stupid ID cards and if we dont we have to wear a Kroger Sticker and buy another one for $5. It's unfair how my homeroom has to have top and bottom lockers when most of the other classes have full lockers, the long ones. We have to change in front of ppl in PE (which i dropped out of) and were not even allowed to change in the bathrooms. (that's pervertive!) How much homework we get. How we arent allowed EVER to go to the bathroom AT ALL not even during breaks just because there was ONE fight in the BOYS bathroom, and that is just wrong. so u guys who complain about not being able to wear short shorts...be thankful u dont go to a school with these kind of rules. Theres more though. We have to tuck in our shirts and wear belts. They have this stupid thing called "Tardy Sweeps" when they have random times in the day after the bell rings they make this announcment that says, "This is a Tardy Sweep send all late students and people in the hallway to the cafeteria." Ive been in one, and we have to stand for the whole time until the next class starts or write this HUGE apology write-offs to your teacher that say stupid things like, "I know I have done the wrong thing and need to learn to be a good student." What's up with that? It's just for being late! How can u expect everyone to get to class in 5 mins? And were in Middle school and we STILL have to walk in lines. Ive been walking in lines for 7 years and im sick of it. Guys I understand the no texting rule, but were not even allowed to have our phones on or on viberate! We have to take off our jacket at the door even if its 14 degrees! (that happened, too) They don't close scool if it snows, and I HATE that. Our lunch is only 20 minutes. I pack my lunch but 4 ppl who buy it (buying is unfair too, school lunch is disgusting) It takes atleast 10 mins and u cant eat anything! Your jacket has to be solid colored just like the rest of our clothes and everything has to be school colors and we still have to wear uniforms on field trips. Oh yeah and our ID cards. We always have to wear the ID around our neck. There are MANY MANY more reasons but this is already long enough. I hate BMS.

School is sooooooooo unfair! But, boy am I glad to have a dress code. But we have what they call "tardy slips". Every time you are late to class or sick from school, you get one. Each one is worth 30 minutes of detention. If you're sick, you get 8 (because of 8 classes missed)!!! So, if you're sick one day, and late for homeroom the next you have 9 slips and you have 1 week to cash them all!!!!At least there is a 2 hour max. on detention.

Oh my god at my school the dress code is ridiculous. First were not aloud to wear the soccer type shorts. What is that. We can't even have dye in our hair. I bleached my hair a few years ago and they gave me ISS (in school suspension). My hair was already bleached. Then this is really stupid. We can only wear black anything 2 a week. They say at our school black is worn to much because that's what preety much everyone wears. They try to tell us that black is the color of the devil. Were not even a Christian school. Get this...on top of wearing a uniform which is really boring and uncomfortable let me tell u that, we HAVE to wear black socks. Its like they want to turn us all into like freak clones or something. I hate the rules about my school! Especially the dress code! e rn't allowed to wear flip flops until August and we can't wear spaghetti straps at all. Our shirts have to be atleast 3 finger lengths long or we cant wear them! At my friends school you cant wear any shirts with words on them and they cant be colorful. You have to wear a solid color shirt pants and shoes and socks. You cant wear hats or jewelry either!!!!!!
I don't like my school very much at all. They are too many people who are hard core into drugs and some teachers don't even care! It's insane! and Also some of the ways the teachers teach its not easy to learn off them. I used to go to a Catholic school, and the principal always yelled at the 7th grade. She was always yelling at us for the things the 8th graders did. Also, there was no self expression, but most of us sneaked it in via hairstyles.We were allowed to dress down, but we had to dress conservatively, and neatly. Come on, what if your birthday was on the day of a school mass? One year, in sixth grade, I had highlights on my bangs, and I was sent to the office. They were light brown, for God's sweet sake! I got lucky though. The pastor happened to be walking by,and he said that I had to let the highlights fade away. I did, because I didn't want to cause any more trouble. Why can't the diocese be a little more loose on the students who attend their schools? Kids who have learning problems are sent to the hall,and Some times, I got in trouble for cutting class to go to Scripture Study, campus ministry, and choir masses. The only classes I ever cut were Art and Health. All the rest of the time I was good. I was allowed to cut class for those, and the principal yelled at me. What was her problem??? We also had cleaning day dress down and last day of school dressup day taken away from us. That is soooo unfair. They didn't accept me for who I was, they tried to squash my creativity and self expression. And I believe that if you believe in what you believ in, thata is self expression alone.

My school is pretty easy going. I go to a private Jewish school. The only unfair thing is no short shorts (except we ALL get away with it pretty easily) and no spaghetti strap tank tops (but again we ALL get away with it pretty easily) The good thing is we dont haveto wear a uniform!!!!! Well, I'm about to go into a new middle school, and my MOM is working there. That's not even the bad part! It's the part where I know my best friend from Elementary School is gonna ditch me for this popular girl who was held back and came from another elementary school just so that she can hang out with all of the boys in school. I have a horrible feeling that she is going to turn out kind of slutty, but I'm just gonna stay true to myself and hang out with my true friends and say hi to people who don't have friends. I'm really going to miss my BFF. Oh well.

Guess what? Not being able to express yourself sucks worse than uniforms. I wore uniforms for 9 years of my life,and I am fine. Uniforms are not a problem, self discipline is. So, Honey, uniforms are cool. Just thank God that you can even go to school. Besides, they promote good behavior. Plus, they can be worn all year round, and you don't have to go to the mall to get new clothes. Think about it.

The dress code at my school is auctually ok! The usual no tank tops unless they are at lest 3 finger width straps, no short shorts,and tucking shirts in, but the one rule from the dress code that I HATE is NO flip flops! I hate that! Also the test tha tyou take at the end of your grade level is STUPID! They should base you on your grades and behavior throughout the year! Some kids DO NOT learn at the same pace and I don't see why they should be tested on things like that! If they have worked hard and done their best and then fail the test why should they not be able to go to the next grade level! It is absolutley STUPID!

Well i have a few things so here:
~School dress code. So, you have to have shorts that are finger tip length, no tanktops, and no hats. And they give u detention if your shorts are like a millimeter shorter. And whats the issue with hats???? I mean...they arent distracting and I think 7th and 8th graders are mature enough to wear hats. Also wat about on those 95 degree days? let the kids wear tanktops and shorts so they wont be burning up in the middle of class!!!
~No gum. What the heck?? Wats wrong with gum?? I mean, back to the mature thing. We aren't gonna stick gum under desks and chairs and stuff. Its not distracting if u chew with your mouth closed or just suck on it or something.

I think that if they don't want us 2 talk in class ,then they should give us more time to talk outside of class. Tweens are gonna talk. It's natural, and they shouldn't get in trouble for it. At my school, u get like 15 minutes a day to talk. It's totally unfair.

What we wear in my school is pretty bad. Maroon EVERYTHING.
We can't have dyed hair, unnatural colours in our hair, leather shoes ONLY and they can't be ballet flats, no make-up, no hoop earrings, and even if you have a broken leg, you have to go around in a skirt. We can't bring in handbags- only the canvassy shopper ones for P.E., and if your earrings are too bright you have to take them off.
We can't even wear our own coats- we have a black fleece and a hideous maroon coat for the winter.
We don't get much homework, and we don't get much tests either, but the ones at Christmas and Summer are brutal.
We're 'supposed' to wear skirts below the knee, but they only give out if it's WAAAY above your knees

we go to school in trailors, (since a tornado wiped the town out) and we have to carry our backpacks around with us all day. we have lockers but can only go to them before school before and after lunch and after school. so we have to carry a big 20lb backpakc around with us EVERYDAY. and the fact that some girls dont get caught wearing shirts with the neckline to low, and the other girls do only if they have a big chest. ugh its anoyining.
One thing I think is unfair about school is that we can't chew gum during school. Sometimes when I have a really big test in a class, it helps me stay focused when I have gum. Some of my teachers let us have gum, but that classes that we CAN chew it in are my easy classes so I really don't need help focusing in caus they are so easy. :)

Well at my school we have this thing called PBS(Positive Behavior Success) and it really sucks because we can't wear short short stuff. Like twice I wore this mini skirt and I didn't get caught. My friends were like " That is way too short. You're gonna get in trouble." But I didn't. I'm a teacher's pet and I get the highest grades in my school, so they don't say anything to me. Then you can't wear tight shirts like body shirts. There's this one boy at our school named Dashaun and he wears them all the time and he doesn't get caught. Then this one day my cousin(whose a boy) was going to get his pictures taken by one of my best friends Anna and another one of my friends were taking the oicture with him, Tyler. Well this girl named Clarecia wrapped some sewing cloth around him and I said I had a scarf so I got it out of my purse and put it on my cousins neck. They were acting really retarded and my friend Anna took the picture for a Year Book a teacher was making. They were gonna be the best use of a scarf. Then a fire drill happened and he was still wearing the scarf and Tyler had taken off the sewing cloth. So when we were coming back one of the vice principals(there's twoo of them) Mr. Profit told him that we couldn't wear scarves. And I said( to where the vice principal couldn't hear) that I'd been wearing it for many times during the school year. I think he was just saying that because a boy was wearing it! Well we have some more rules but it's alot of them like no gum. I'm a really active gum chewer so I gots to have me some gum. I don't chew gum in two classes unless there's a sub. But I chew it in any other class. SOmetimes I give out gum and it's almost gone by the time I get home.

well at my school there is no dress code, we can wear whatever we want. Sure there are rules like: no spagetti straps, or no skirts above the knee, but what ticks me off is that the staff doesnt enforce the rules. I see girls wearing really revealing clothes or something inapropriate and it makes me very uncomfortablee but the teachers still dont do anything about it. They simply dont care....
No gum. It really sucks, because chewing gum helps me feel way more calm... Also, the fact that my school has a dress code, but nobody pays attention. Girls will wear tank tops and extremely short skirts and not get in trouble or wear something graphic, sexually or violent or whatever, and not get in trouble. It sucks. Also, bad teachers. On the last day of school I asked a teacher if she would please close the window, and she was like, "There is always someone who can't stand the cold huh?" and was like "you could have went on the other side of the room" Seriously, calm down, I asked, you could have said no. Also creepy teachers....lol...=D
Oh yeah and during lunch we have to put our finger up if we see a teacher doing it and get quiet. I didn't put my finger up and I got a lunch detention for it. What the heck right? Then, I had to sit at a table all alone on the last day we had lunch and a boy sitting at another table was close to mine and he is always like extremely mean to me and calls me a lot of bad stuff and verbally and emotionally absues me and he was doing that the whole lunch period. I was about to cry and the lunch supervisors didn't even do ANYTHING about it.

dress code. at my school your shorts must be below your fingertips when standing straight with them at your side and if they are to short you have to change or get detention. my friends were a centimeter to short and she had to wear her gym shorts all day. plus im really tall and have really long arms and fingers so about the shortest shorts i can wear are pretty much kapris that go to my knees. plus tank tops have to be wider than 3 fingers together.

The thing I think is so unfair at school is making us wear uniforms! I mean what are we gonna do get lost at our school. And I also don't understand why we have to tuck in our shirts. I don't know if kids at other schools have to tuck their shirts in but we do and i hate it. It's so aggervatening!

The rules are undersandable for private schools. But i go to a public school and before long we will probably be wearing uniforms. I dont think cell phones should be used during class because of cheating. But they do not start fights! People who are going to fight, will fight without cell-phones!

The teachers! I mean, some teachers are actually cool, but my old math teacher? ugh. This one boy in my class had a closed water bottle on his desk
(abd she lets us drink water bottles in class), took a sip, and the plastic bottle crinkled, right? She made it a whole argument about it and made him get suspended. Then she made us wright about the argument in a peice of paper. I wrote the whole thing and gave it to her. She gave it back and told me to rewrite it, only with the things HE said (and he was my friend) so I only wrote "I didnt hear anything" and gave it back. Then she said it was unacceptable, took the 1st note out of the trash, and pointed to a spacific line and said "wright this. only this. sign it" and she MADE me do it. i was so mad that i had my rights taken away, i was being controlled and i was getting my friend in troubble. i hated her for the rest of the year.
and the way they act! i mean, who cares HOW you solved the problem as long as the answers correct? my love of math i built in 6th grade at another school quickly crumbled in 7th grade. she was a new teacher at the school and is leaving this summer. how come my grade and year had to be stuck with her?
I also hate the no PDA rule...but nobody ever follows or enforces that.

they want us to express ourselves and yet we are not allowed to have un natural colored hair (such as purple, pink, blue, etc.). we also, at least part of the time, can never share our opinion about something without getting in trouble for it. they tell us to stand up for what we believe in, then they give us a detention for actually trying to. I hate when you get SOOOO much homework and you have three major tests the next day. You know, sometimes I want to watch something or do something other than work. And I hate when I have all the homework, three tests the next dat, cheer until 4:30 after school, and two hours of dance and travel time to dance. It's so annoying because then I don't get to eat until I get back from dance, then I have to study for an hour and I don't get to bed till midnight.
We also have to take a huge math test to see if we will be in advanced or average. It is a huge stress and then they make you take it as a grade. (OK so it's like finals but it was the first time this year so it was hard).
And the fact that we have to wear uniforms (a real hot shirt and skirt for fall and spring, and a vest, blouse, and skirts.
You're not supposed to wear long earrings, jewelry, or nail polish, but they don't care as long as you don't wear black nail polish.
No sneaks, but I got a doctor's excuse because I have to wear sneaks.
In FIFTH grade I got in trouble because I followed some kids in my class upstairs. My teacher was so annoying. There was a huge crowd and like ten kids went upstairs so I thought my teach was leading and she wasn't and she was so mean she didn't even listen... We had to write one hundred words about responsibility. Luckily writing is one of my talents and I am very responsible.
I mean, if tons of peeps were going upstairs, wouldn't you think they were following the teach? She was so so annoying!

I don't like the strict dress codes. Students should be allowed to dress how they want to express their difference from others. I also don't like how some teachers try to intimidate students because then students are afraid to ask questions, and then they fail their tests. I don't know if most of you guys are concerned about that, but it really is important that teachers make their students feel comfortable.
This past year at my school we got a new principal. She seemed fine for a while; there weren't really any changes. Then halfway through the year she just suddenly decides to get rid of bathroom breaks for us! We're still aloud to go during passing periods, but those we need for going to our lockers and getting to class. We don't have time to go to the bathroom then! We're only allowed one "emergency" per quarter. But there are GIRLS that attend our school! We NEED to have permission to go to the bathroom certain times of the month, if you get what I'm saying! Also this next school year our dress code(we wear uniforms) is going to get even stricter. We already couldn't wear tennis shoes, but now we can't wear flats either. Most girls wear Sperrys, but now we can't have any prints on the sides of them like some pairs are. Those shoes are seventy bucks! School is expensive enough as it is, and those shoes are really the only cute kind we're aloud to wear. If we already had a pair with the print on the side, I think we should get to wear them still. I don't get what the big deal is of a little blue plaid on the sides of my shoes, sheesh.
My school has a dress code: No nail polish, no jackets that aren't school jackets, you can only wear shoes that are black & white, black, white, or brown. No shorts, no make up and yes ladies that includes lip-gloss, Skirts have to be knee length. I hated that school so much! Thank God! I'm going to high school this fall.

I (for one) hate my dress code. And it is totally unfair that I have a dress code because my school does not know how to "in force" there school rules. I feel after they at least try to in force the rules that they made that things at school would not be so bad. Also they are punishing everyone else that did dress the way that they needed to. BTW. I have to go to a private school next year and the most stupidest rule ever is that you can't have anything with something like rock/pop stars, bands, or anything that isn't with the uniform. You also can't be caught a pop/rock/rap/ect. concert! That's so stupid! Even if you're outside of school or if it's a weekend!!! There is also no phisical contact with boys and girls. Like you can't hold hands, hug, or stuff. I understand that you can't kiss but you should be able to hug!! I mean what if your best guy-friend just won something or did something congradulating worthy?? A hug would be a perfect present!! Also, if you get there before a certain time, and your under some age, you have to go to some sort of day-care like thing where teachers watch you! And you have to pay for it!!! I would understand if you were in elementary school but if your in middle or high-school then you should be able to go to your locker or to the restroom!
What I do sorta like is that on Fridays, you have an option to wear some sort of Hawaiian shirt or tank(2-inch rule).
I also don't like homework! We are just kids so we shouldn't expect to have 1~5 hours of homework!

I just h8 school dress codes for highscool. The elementary students can dress any way they want. I have no friends at school because everybody says im ugly and nobody likes me so it is hard to fit in for me. Another thing I do not like about school is work. i go to catholic school and we wear uniforms, im going into 6th grade so from the little people grades to 5th u wear a stupid jumper but 6th through 8th its a skirt and a shirt thxs to god i dont hace to wear the stupid jumper!!!! we dont have a cafitiria, so we eat in our class room at our seats and get the food from delis by the school, the food isnt bad but its kind of weird plus everytime i order salad, it comes late so i have to eat when i come back from resece, but everyone has to do work then hehehe home work i just think should be gone and all the work should be transported into our heads. gym is useless even more usless when u run around like crazy at resece and when u come in u have it after u come in from resece now how stupid is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x-( but i love my school i have alot of friends and its a great school :) :) :)

Well we didn't have much of a dresscode which was cool but the principles and stuff always made us tuck our shirts in which i hate doin dependin on how the shirt is made..... and also they tripped about earrings tawkin bout they cant bee larger than a quarter lol... but imma truly miss mah skool... Da big oakie...
1. tank tops straps have to be 3 fingers wide
2. necks of shirts 2 inches below the collar bone or above
3. skirts/skorts/pants/skorts have to be 1 inch below fingertips
4. the tour sucks (going to 6th grade at an army base in Heidelberg, Germany!)
5. i won't know any of my teachers until a couple of days before school starts because they're all moving up to eighth grade (at least fo rthis year)
6. no stuff from home (including ipods, cameras, stuffed animals, nintendo DS's, etc.)
7. only 3 minutes between classes!!!yikes!!!
8. if you dont like a class that's not required, you have to either stay in the class or become an office aid where you deliver notes and stuff around the school to ALL GRADES including the snotty eighth graders!!!
9. only 5 minutes after P.E. to shower and stuff

after reading some of these comments i pretty much love my school now! we dont really have a dress code, just nothing too revealing, but noone follows that rule, and none of the teachers care. we are allowed hats, tattoo's, peircings, hair dye, etc. almost all our teachers are nice and joke around with everyone. most teachers let us listen to our ipods, and only give you a warning if they catch you texting. i had a teacher who didnt care if we texted last semester XD teachers pretty much never give out detentions and dont even notice when you are late to class. our lunch is an our long, and we can eat/ go anywhere we want, and our caf has really good food :P we have 10 min inbetween our classes that you can do whatever you want. the only thing that bugs me is all the homework. i had around 5-6 hours of hw in my first semester, it was crazy. and i was only in grade 9 then, cant wait to see how much i get in grade 10! D:
Oh the list goes on and on in middle school....
-They cage you in at lunch: The iron fences are supposed to be used after school, to prevent theft. But they use the security system to prevent kids from walking anywhere out of the cafeteria
-You aren't allowed to bring any kind of soda to school; that guarantees a suspension.
-You can't bring food or drink into the hallways OR to your locker; If it's found in your locker after lunch hours you get detention.
-Lockers are checked once a year for drugs/illegal substances, things aren't allowed at school (cellphones/mp3 players/ etc)
-You can't touch anyone in any way, no matter the gender (No hugs, no holding hands etc) ....Also guarantees a suspension
-You aren't allowed to lean on the walls
--you can't wear open toed shoes, hoodies, tanktops, Heelie shoes, ballet shoes, pajamas, hats, sunglasses, and high heels, and dark soled shoes. If you're caught with ANY of these things on, whamo! Suspension once again. (Have you noticed it's very easy to get suspensions?)
-You have an "emergency" bathroom break twice a month, depending on the teacher. Otherwise, you have to go during the "3 minute" passing period, and we need to use that time to get books and things from lockers! ( -.-;; )
-You aren't allowed to socialize during passing time, or any time that isn't before or after school. They even have a noise limit at lunch.
-Since you're trapped in the lunchroom anyway, you have to be dismissed by the vice principal to go outside/ use the restroom. There are no restrooms outside, so you need 'special permission' from a security guard to open the gates that let into the commons area where the restroom and bottled water machines are. You only get about 7 minutes of outside activity/time to use the restroom at all during the lunch period.
-There are only four electives to choose from. That's it. Band, Choir, Technology (computers), and Spanish.
-Using foul language will get you detention (Haha! Not suspension, hallellujah!)
-You aren't allowed to carry a backpack around...at all. If you're caught with a purse, handbag, or backpack of any kind before or during school...(I'm about to say suspension again...whoopie -_-)
This rule is inactive the first few days of school, however. Once you get your locker, Then you must abide by the rules.
-6th graders are put in a seperate building from the 7th and 8th graders. Like an elementary/middle school transition area.
-No running anywhere in the school, even if you're late to class (That's somewhat reasonable)
Luckily, at my high school, NONE of these rules apply, and I'm much happier ^-^ After you leave middle school, say hello once again to your freedom and sanity!

1: Strict Teachers/Volleenteers/Lunch Ladies:
some teachers at my school are abit too i suppose. Like, my homeroom teacher is soo nice that when u get in trouble shes like "its ok.. dont do it again" or "Dont run in the halls okay?" I mean its soo kind of her to say that unlike this other teacher Ms.Bond. like when YOU run in the halls she usually says "Hey! NO running in the Halls!" and she gives u a long lecture. and when u go out for recess, she yells in the halls "5! 4!" and all the way to 0 and she expects u to go out before she hits 0. and one time my sis ACCIDENTLY pushed our friend and she got hurt. Then Ms.Bond Had to give her a lecture... My sis was crying and she had NO mercy on her..! well she didnt do it purposly. if u were my sister trying to explain what rly happened... she wont even try to listen to u.... that is whats soo unfair.
2. Short Working time for hmwk:
I think its okay to have homework because it helps us learn but for projects, i think we should have more prep time.I think that because my class had to work on speeches.And my teacher thought she had told us two weeks b4 but she didnt. now we only had about 5days to prepare and my class find us fair when the grade 7 and 8ers have like 2 months and most of the ppl in my class couldnt memorize...... i dont like that...

Okay I think school is unfair because people judge you to much before they get to know you, They dont give you chance at showing them what you can do, I should know I've been bulled until high school.
What i think is unfain anout school is i hardley learn anything because there is always a student or in my case 4 students that ruen it for every body elts.... it could be trying to crack a rude joke in the middle of a super important lecture that your only going to here once, or when your teacher asks one of them a super easy question and they refuse to answer, or someone sets one of them off and she goes and picks up her books, staks off to the dore, slams it, and spends the rest of the period reading twilight or something, mean- wile your teacher goes chasing her through the halls.
i feel realy bad for thoes kinds of kids because they are probably feeling insaqure, and probabily don't have the best home life either. The way the teachers handle therotten apples sometimes is inferiating and tedious because one day after the other it's always the office, and staying back after calss, and detenchions.... it's NOT going to help thoes kinds of kids like attenshion, they crave it and teachers give it to them so why can't teachers do something a little more benifishal?

School, I go to school. I do not care for it really I don’t. For the last ten school years of my young smart wonderful life well school life because I’m fifteen years old I never understood why we should have to go because the stuff I want to do in life don’t consist of going to some secondary school even for those kids who go to private school, boarding school, etc. before I go on the school board are always saying how they want to protect the students and teachers. That they are trying to make us ready for when we start working like for example we have to tuck in our shirts, cannot color our hair, no piercings are allowed other than on our ears hello I mean we are in high school not the frickin army. For everyone’s information my aunt works at the hospital and they do not tuck in their shirts I mean come on. Teachers don’t even do it and gym teachers you are all a bunch of hypocrites telling us to get in shape when you smell like McDonalds please. When I am sweating like a pig in the sun cause I’m running and I see you standing there talking with your little coach friends it makes me want to puke even more. Or how about when I’m in pain cause I’m doing those stupid jumping jacks or pushups let me see you do them then just maybe I will take pride on what I’m doing and try doing them after you eat then let’s see you do them.
Ok lets go back to the dress code let’s start off with the tucking in of our t shirts now in middle school everyone had to do this girls and boys it was upsetting I would wear a sweater all the time cause I hadn’t grown into my body I felt bad for kids who were overweight cause it probably made them feel worst about their weight. Then there was the belt issue the deal was you always have to wear a belt or you would get detention or lunch detention. Let me go back a couple of years about two years ago or three I was in the seventh grade I had gotten an ovarian cyst so my side was sore and since my pants were tight enough I decide to go to school like that thinking that the school staff would have an understanding I guess that was my bad cause they didn’t. I was waiting in the lunch line a little nervous cause they were checking for belts. Now I do not mean this out of disrespect for the Jewish people or for any people who died in holocaust because I read how horrible it was. But you know how they would check the number on them when they were in line or just walking around or whatever well this time we are in school and they are checking for belts. For BELTS! People are so unbelievable really it makes me sick yuck! Anyways some fat guy principal or something like that came up to me and “do you have a belt?” or “let me see it.” The thing that always ticked me off was that they would touch you to see if the belt was real I mean excuse me what are you blind can’t you see its real duh! Well anyways back to my story I wasn’t wearing one that day. He started interrogating me like if I had a gun “why aren’t you wearing one?” I was like well I didn’t want to say because there were other girls around me one them who didn’t like me very much ,and talks a lot and my use to be friends. I explained because of my cyst he then just told me ok well bring a doctor’s note. I was thinking you have some nerve then those girls were laughing saying you got nervous and stuff I was like whatever I told the truth it doesn’t matter.

my school has strict rules, but nobody ever follows them, and since nobody follows them, the teacher's can't get everyone to follow them so they just dont care. we have to carry around a 3inch binder with EVERYTHING that you would normally have in your backpack (paper, pensils, pens, erasers, planner ect.) must be in the binder. i just have a 2in because teachers dont care after december. we can listen 2 ipods, have lots of peircings, and the school is so open, its very easy to skip.
but my 1st middle school was 1 way in, 1 way out, 50 gaurds, and LOTS of barbed wire. when i describe it to my friends were i live now, they think i was in juvinile hall or something. nope, i was in middle school.

At my school they added 40 more min. of extra time every day! just to save money on gas for the buses! they say the schools is broke. On the bright side there's less days of school. we can't wear tank tops or soffes that stupid! we also can't our pocket books in the classrooms we have to leave it in our locker! Well the #1 thing is that my PRIVATE school used to be no uniform and no rules on dress code except the no pant/shorts/skirts shorter than the finger tips!
And that was it! I loved it, that was until I was in 4th grade! After that everything changed!
5th grade we had to wear collard shirts. They could be any color or pattern though! So I was okay! No holes in the shirts/pants.
Then 6th grade was the same thing, except on Wednesdays we had to wear a school collard shirt, and Fridays, a school T-shirt!
Now, this year (7th)... we have FULL uniforms!!!! Ahhh! I'm sooo NOT excited!
I can't believe how people live with them, I don't want uniforms!
And the whole junior high starts at 7:45 am and ends and 3:30 pm!

I love school but one thing really gets to me is, we go to school all day and then we have to go home and do more (homework). I wouldn't even mind going to school for an extra hour instead of homework. I love my friends too much and I am in the band program that I love! We go to Vancouver and toronto and stuff to do one of the things that i love...MUSIC!

my middle school was fine except one rule, we couldn't wear flip flops. im a girl so i want to wear flip flops i think that rule is stupid. now im going into highschool and my principal and assistant principal moved up to it from my middle school. i sure hope that they dont make the flip flop rule. the only reason theres this rule is because someone stepped on someones flip flop and the person with the flip flops fell so thats why we couldn't wear them, but theres so many kids in the highschool so i dont think she can make that rule i hope she cant ahhh.

OMG!!!!!!!! 6th grade sucked. But i am goin into 7th grade and hopefully it will be better(i dout that). Here r some of the rules at my school
1) no cell phones
no holes in jeans
no shirts less than 2 fingers
no skirts above fingertips
I never get classes with my freinds
no maggazines
on my old bus we had assigned seets(sooo gay)
no electronics(ipods,ds,ds i,cell phones.even on the bus)
and there r alot more gay rules but my grandmas key board is jacked up barly can use spacebar
we have to run to get to classes and we just changed to a 6 period day that alternates math, L.A. ,science and social studdies main all year. a-day b-day c-days andblue and orange days (our school colors) I have to take gym on a color day and the other color day i have to take french(cresont with honey anybody)and the letter days i have avid, band and art i think or2 band classes and avid (advanced via indevidual determenation) if you didnt know. ther is no movies ecept gay ones like bill nye the science guy and the magic school bus and yes i am talking about middle school. no back paks bigger than a book no lip gloss no lostion
oh and my fav consolerjust died mrs.McCormic she was the one that acuallylistend to m,e and helped me and not fall asleep wen i was talking it was terible dont know how but she died in july and we had 3 kids die at our school.
CBMS (chesapeek bay middle school) sucks soooo bad
i hate the princibles i got in trubble for taking to long in the bathroom and we got escorted to lunch and back to the classroom stupid
CBMS stinks like a class that you hate and having ur ears and eyes bleedand having to sit next to the most anoyingest person in the school; that stinks and thinks she is all that and a bag of chips

My school is very unfair. no actual i would have to say out of all the schools that i have gone to...
they r all unfair! they tell us dat we cant wear anything we want, that we have to wear school uniforms...
l everybody hates wearin school uniforms.. we hate it when every class we go to we have to have our pants way up high like how the peoples in the 60's wore their clothes...
way up to over our belly button. we have to have our shirts tucked in which very uncomfortable for us n then they tell us dat we cant have hoodies or a jacket dat had a hood on it or we have it at school u no wat they do? they take dat jacket away from us n they dont give it back to us....
not a lot of peoples have those sweaters dat we got 2 wear school... not alot of us can afford 2 buy a sweater jux 2 keep us warm in school...
i think that they should at least have us have the freedom to wear whatever we want in high school n have us wear uniforms in elementary and in middle school!!!
And i understand the fact of not having a cellphone or any other technology n school but hey a lot of peoples want to take pics, or talk on the phone or maybe even text somebody durin lunch.... u no?
i mean during lunch it is always so boring. all we do is jux sit der in do nuttin but talk to our friends. i mean ders nuttin bad about dat but still....

my school's dress code is so lame! We can't wear flip flops or other things that normal schools would let their students wear. it's like wearing a uniform, but it's not a uniform. I think it's just dumb. if they won't let us wear what we want then just get us uniforms!!!
