Hi there J-14ers!
Yes, I'm just a measly Muggle. And to be perfectly honest, I'm not exactly a big fan of the fantasy genre... yet it's no secret that I'm 109 3/4% (get it? ha!) obsessed (emphasis: OBsessed!) with Harry Potter.
I've crossed borders to buy the original "British English" versions of the books that J.K. Rowling wrote, I own random HP trinkets like a Gryffindor jacket and character gummy candies, and I guarantee you there's no spell that could tear me away from Harry Potter marathons on ABC Family (nope, not even in the library's restricted section's books!).
So this two-year wait between films has been absolutely excruciating, to say the least. I had mixed feelings when the movie got bumped eight months (thank goodness, Twilight took its spot -- I'm just as obsessed with Edward Cullen, but let's save that for another day! ;) ). Needless to say, I was more than grateful that I was one of the "chosen ones" who got to catch an advanced screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Monday night.
And... drumroll please... dare I say it? Yes, this movie is the best Harry Potter movie to date. No doubt about it.
Why? Five simple reasons...
1- It's hilarious! You'll laugh more than ever about everything from the kids' kooky flirting to Luna Lovegood's crazy ways - check out her lionhead in the photo above!
2-It's nail-biting! The entire fate of the world -- both wizarding and Muggle! -- rests on the bravery of Harry himself!
3-It's dramatic! Your heart will tear apart when you go through Hermione and Harry's jealousy when they see their crushes with other dates!
4-It's swoon-worthy! All the kids have grown out of their awkward phases -- Dan Radcliffe looks cuter and more charming than ever, Rupert Grint's grown from goofy kid into a certified hottie, bad boy Tom Felton's looks like a total rockstar now, and of course there's my newest HP crush Cormac McLaggen played by Freddie Stroma who's totally up there with my first two wizard crushes, Oliver Wood played by Sean Biggerstaff, and Cedric Diggory played by some guy you've never heard of called Rob Pattinson. :)
5-And it's heart-wrenching! No spoilers for those who haven't read the book, but you will need Kleenex. Boxes of it.
Or to put it into Twitter-sized thinking: I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I shrieked, I sweated, I swooned... in short, loved every minute of Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince!
But this is my issue with the films... every time I see a new Harry Potter film, I feel like I've seen it before!
Huh? What do I mean? Well, not long after the movie started, Harry and Dumbledore were in Professor Horace Slughorne's house and I knew I'd be there before. Only I couldn't have... because this was the first time I'd seen the movie and hadn't ever seen any photos of it. I felt the same way in Fred and George's joke shop. And again in the dark cave with Harry and Dumbledore at the end.
And then it clicked. I realized I HAD been to all these places before. But it was only in my head when I read the books! And suddenly, I realized the beauty of the Harry Potter movies and books is that J.K. Rowling writes every minute detail so vividly and clearly and the filmmakers have kept to her word so faithfully that what I saw on screen was literally what I'd pictured in my imagination while I was reading the books! It's like they reached into MY memory and bottled it up and poured it only the big screen. :)
Well, I'd need a time-turner to keep writing everything I have to say about this BEST Harry Potter movie EVER, so I'll leave it at that... and I cannot wait to hear what all of you guys think after you see the movie tomorrow! Do tell!

It was the best! My mum is from Northern Ireland and every time they would say some funny British expression (snogging, knickers in a twist...) my sister, my mum & me were the only ones laughing!
I think it will be a really good movie. It will be my first ever harry potter movie. But i have to wait till fri. to see it.

This was an amazing movie all-around. There were parts that made me laugh so hard I was doubled over in my chair, and some parts that were so intense that I was freaking out. I kinda yelled at the screen, even though I knew what was going to happen. And tissues are a must, but if you don't have any, use a friend's shoulder. It was honestly the hardest I've cried in a while. Every moment they captured in the movie was just as J.K. Rowling wrote it for the most part, but I just wished they included some of the things from the book that they didn't. But come on people, TWILIGHT?! Pathetic excuse for a fantasy movie. HP is where it's at. Because, in case you haven't noticed, Harry Potter isn't just hyped up because of a hot actor. Well, at least not for me.

Twilight will never be as amazing as Harry Potter. All Twilight is is hot guys not wearing shirts. But Harry Potter has everything, and the most amazing characters aren't even cute (Dumbledore&Snape, in my opinion) Everything J.K. Rowling wrote is pure magic, and Twilight will forever live in its shadow. And everyone who thinks Rob Pattinson was better in Twilight: His role may have been bigger, but not as meaningful

I am a die-hard Twilight fan but the Harry Potter movies are better than the actual movie of Twilight but the Twilight saga,as in the actual novels are(in my opinion)amazing I like the Twilight books better than the Harry Potter books.But talking about movies the Harry Potter movies are better because they stick to the book more closely than Twilight did. I completley agree....I saw the movie yesterday and I have to admit I thought it was one of the best...And I had the same deja vu's as you because I felt like I have been to all the places too!!!!!! Freaky or what?!?!?!?
I didn't really like it. I'm OBSESSED with HP (hence my name), but it was boring for me. They changed too much. The Burrow? SERIOUSLY!? That made me SOOOOOO angry! I hated it! Tonks, Luna, and Neville were barely shown, and I LOVE THEM!!! OotP is the worst, but this is an almost close second. They ruined all of the kisses! I didn't like Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. They cut out a crucial memory! Now people who have followed the movies and just read the last book won't know that Riddle wanted a job at Hogwarts! Only ONE Quidditch match was shown, and Harry didn't get punished for Sectumsempra (though that scene was pretty good, but Myrtle wasn't there!), Potions was messed up, when Ron and Harry fight for the better book, well, that was just stupid, Dumbledore didn't cut his arm, the inferi came too early, Harry didn't try Accio, I thought the cave and Dumbledore's office were too small, the memories aren't black and white, Hogwarts Riddle was a good actor but he didn't look like the real Riddle. I could go on and on, but I'm wasting your time.
Also, it was the biggest worldwide opening in history.

Well to me the movies have been slowly getting worse..its like ever since the first one they've been on like a downwards hill...and the latest one was by far the worst... if you ask me they wasted time and money on this movie...

I love Harry Potter! I think Tom Felton is so Hot! But i have to say that the Half Blood Prince wasn't the best they've ever made...
i went to see the movie in theaters on the second day it was out. there weren`t that many people in there but we went to a small theater. anyways i loved the movie so much. my friend that i went with said that it isn`t really what she expected. she said it was really different from the book.`we both liked it alot though. i haven`t read the books but i am reading them as of last week. i can`t wait to see the other movies even though i will have read all the books by then. which i don`t usually do, but im willing to make an exception. i thank J.k Rowling for writing the amazing series and all the directorsand producers that brought them to life. looking forward to the next movies.

I seriously think that I am the biggest Harry Potter fan ever and I was so pleased with the sixth movie! It was amazing! Dumbledore was such a beloved character and when he passed away they did such grest effects and scenery! I really didn't like the third movie- definitley my least favorite one, but the sixth movie paid it back for that! I loved Draco Malfoy's character in the movie- the producers made him see that he was a real, emotional human being and I loved that viewers could really get a sense of that! He is such a good actor- I sometimes forget that he is acting as Draco. I also enjoyed seeing Hermoine's emotions so clearly in the sixth movie- I could see the way she and Ron were meant to be! If you haven't seen the movie yet, you have to go see it right now! Get off your boot and get on over to the movie theatre- this is a movie you cannot miss!!!

I loved the new Harry Potter movie, I saw it at midnight on opening night. It was so great!!! Best one yet in my opinion! Daniel Radcliffe looked super cute in this one.. just like all the other movies. My husband is such a great actor! LOL!!! And I like Twilight and all... But Harry Potter is sooo much better!!!!!!!!!

I went to see Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince, and I was disappointed. They left out a lot of things that were in the book. It was OK, but it could have been inproved a lot.
It was a GREAT movie. It was the best HP movie so far I can't wait for another! I don't think it was better than twilight but honestly twilight wasn't THAT good to compare to Harry because there are more better HP movies. I mean i LOOOVE twilight but they are both good movies but neither could go for first place. But we will have to wait and see new moon to make any opinions on the twilight saga.

BETTER THAN JAKE BLACK!!! not to mention that he and his girlfriend, Nymphadora Tonks are the oringinal bella and edward. to anyone who read twilight first, go read HP5 and HP6 they're older than twilight and the romance between RL and NT was sooo sweet! well about the movie though, it could have been more like the book, but it was still awesome in it's own way, i'd be surprised if this doesn't earn the academy award for best specail effects. PS not to spoil for anyone but the part when Cormac puked on Professor Snape had me laughing so FREAKING HARD!!! good. movie.
