For the past few weeks rumors have been swirling that American Idol judge Paula Abdul would not be returning for season nine. And last night Paula posted this on her Twitter:

Wow. That's a surprise. I wasn't really her #1 fan... My fav judge has got to be Simon. He judges ppl based on their singing ability not on their personality.
I am so upset! Paula is needed on Idol! Without Paula there is no Idol. My favorites were Paula and Simon! I honestly can't stand KARA! She annoys me so much! I will miss Paula very much :(
I'm not sad because the truth is that she just copies what the other judges say and makes it into her own words. Also she never has something to say so she goes " but you look beautiful tonight "
BTW Kara quit to. (I think) my friend told me like 3 months ago.

Paula was my favorite judge b/c of the enthusiasim! she would not let any one down unless they needed to try again next year! she is awesome and American Idol will never be the same without her!

Im not really sad she quitting but she was the only nice judge but it will stop the rumors! But it's hers loss! She quit i would only be sad if she got fired!
I cannot believe Paula is quitting!The only good part about it is there will be one less person to comment on the outfit instead of the singing! My fave judge is either Randy or Simon.
I can't beleive she's leaving American Idol! She's been on it since the show began! American Idol is nothing without Paula. There's no way that Kara can take her place next season.
