Vampire mania hits the small screen with The Vampire Diaries premiering tonight on the CW at 8:00PM ET! On the first episode, we meet Elena (played by Degrassi actress Nina Dobrev) who is returning to high school the fall after a family tragedy.
Psychic BFFs, jealous frenemies, an angry ex -- Elena deals with it all, and becomes close with the new guy at school Stefan (played by Paul Wesley) who has his own problems to deal with including his bad boy brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) coming back into his life. And then there's the whole him being a vampire trying to live a normal life thing...

I will definetely watch it. It is the secound best vampire book behind the Twilight Saga of course. But i will watch it looks scary and cool.
OMG!!!!! Yes I am SOOOOO watching it. I am a vampire fanatic and this is about vampires, so no-duh I'm watching it. I also LOVE Degrassi, and i think Nina Dobrev's charactor is such a strong woman role model. I wonder how she'll be in this show.
it looks like it is a re-make of twilight so I am defenitely going to watch it and the guy looks pretty hot but not as hot as robert or taylor....he's got a long way to go.

I know everyone thinks it was a copy of twilight, but it was completely different. NOT BETTER, but different. Plus it isn't copying because Those books came out A really long time ago, it just wasn't a popular book.
WELL for taking the place of smallvillle it was okay...but smallville way better and i am still a bit disapointed they moved that to fridays...but other then that i liked it. maybe it was because it was the first ep. but the characters seemed a little shaky and the acting was not that good. but damon is smoking! not as hot as jacob black tho... Damon comes in second
