American Idol winner Kris Allen dished to J-14 about his recent visit to Haiti, advice for this season's contestants, and how you can give back! You can catch Kris performing live and discussing more about Haiti on American Idol at 8/7c tonight on FOX.

J-14: What exactly will you be doing on American Idol tonight?
Kris Allen:
I'm going to be singing "Let It Be." It's going to be an inspirational kind of thing and hopefully people can really connect to it. The performance is going to be sold on iTunes, and right afterwards there is a way you can text in and help the UN raise some funds for Haiti.

J-14: How do you feel about returning to the American Idol stage?
Kris:
It's nerve-racking! The thing is, it's not about me, so I think that feels really good. Every time that I was on that stage last year it was about me, and for this it's not and that feels like a really good thing to come back there for.

J-14: How did seeing the devastation in Haiti personally affect you?
Kris:
When you see something like that it makes you happy for what you have, but it also makes you want to do something to help. I think it's an innate human kind of thing -- when you see people hurting, you want to help them. And there was a lot of happiness and hope in people's eyes.

J-14: Have you been watching this season of American Idol?
Kris:
I would like to say that I have seen a lot of the show, but I really haven't. I've been pretty busy. I've seen a couple people, but no one is going to be like season eight!

J-14: What advice do you have for the season nine contestants?
Kris:
Just go out and do your best. Just go out and do what you know how to do!
