The second season of The City premieres tonight on MTV, and J-14 chatted with the reality show's star, Whitney Port, about the new episodes, her new relationship with a Buried Life star, and what it's really like to date on-camera!

J-14: What can we expect in this second season?
Whitney Port:
There's a lot about my clothing line -- it's really showing the evolution of the line and what it really takes to be a designer. It's really me from the beginning to the end phases of doing a season -- designing the line, seeing the samples being made, shooting our look book, doing sales, getting press for it. It's the whole process of an evolution of one season. Then there's stuff with Erin and Olivia that I'm not really a part of but it's a mixed bag of what's going on with Roxy and I working along with them. And then little bit of dating and just enjoying ourselves in the city!

J-14: Is it weird to date on screen or are you getting used to it?
Whitney:
I'm pretty use to it now. I think it's kind of fun because I feel really protected -- when I'm on a blind date or on a date with a new guy, I have all these people around that will help if I need to escape the situation. At first it was obviously awkward on camera, but now I've really become comfortable, so it's just part of the job.

J-14: How are things between you and The Buried Life's Ben Nemtin?
Whitney:
I'm seeing him. It's hard because we have such different schedules, and they're all over the place right now, but whenever we can be with each other and see each other we do. We're just trying to have fun and not analyze things too much.

J-14: Do you feel settled in to New York City now or is it still hard being away from Los Angeles?
Whitney:
It's hard because I miss my best friends and my family, but I definitely feel like New York is a home to me now. I feel like I know my neighborhood, I know my local spots, like I have a good group of friends out there. I'm really comfortable in my home, so I definitely feel like more of a New Yorker now. I think it kind of takes like a year to feel that way.

J-14: What spring and summer fashion trends are you looking forward to?
Whitney:
I am really liking like this neutral muted tone on everything. I'm seeing a lot of nudes everywhere, and I just really like that look, especially when you can get a little bit more color in your tan as the sun comes out. I think mixing textures and prints is really fun, stripes and plaids or florals with polka dots -- just to not be afraid of that eclectic look.

You can catch Whitney tonight on The City at 10:30 p.m. ET. on MTV.
