J-14 hung out with Big Time Rush while they were visiting New York City! We not only had an exclusive photo shoot with them, we got the scoop on their fave episodes, what it was like playing in Times Square, and the craziest fan encounter they've had yet!

J-14: What was your favorite episode to film this season?
Carlos Pena:
The finale, because it was full of so much stuff. [June 10] we did a smaller concert in L.A., and it was a lot of singing and dancing and running around L.A. -- it was fun.
James Maslow: The episode where I am completely orange the entire time. I get addicted to Mangerine Tanning Spray. It is hilarious. It was terrible at the time because I had to be sprayed orange every day -- there is probably still orange in my fingernails five months later.

J-14: What was it like to perform in Times Square recently?
Carlos Pena:
It was amazing. I don't think my parents thought that in one year I'd be playing in front of 2,000 people in the middle of Times Square. My mom was crying. She was like, "This is amazing!" To see my dad's face -- his expression was just like, "I cannot believe this is happening to my son."
Kendall Schmidt: Before New York, we rehearsed for five or six days back in L.A. These last rehearsals were pretty crazy. I compared it to doing tae bo while singing. I didn't do any dancing before BTR, so this is something I had to get used to, and learning all the new dances turned out pretty cool. I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, but I feel like I did pretty well in the dancing department. It could be better, but I feel like I hold my own for only taking hip-hop classes when I was eight.

J-14: Have you had any crazy fan encounters?
James:
Four girls broke into our hotel once. I was getting in the elevator with a camera crew for behind-the-scenes stuff. I turn around, and as soon as I step in and the doors close, I hear, "Ahhh!" These girls are screaming and I'm like, "What happened?!" I signed things and took pictures. It was some girl's birthday, and I even sang her 'Happy Birthday.' They were all very nice, but it was a little crazy. I guess if anybody deserves an autograph, they did work for it!

J-14: What is your favorite BTR song?
Logan Henderson:
We have a lot of great new ones that no one has heard yet, but I've always loved "Halfway There." Our style has definitely changed and taken a twist over these past few months -- we have more of an R&B direction and more of a solid pop direction. We've been working with some really cool writers. We've been able to throw our ideas around a lot more. Whenever you're with three other guys, it takes a while to find your sound and have everybody work with each other. Once you get into the groove and find out how that works, then it just meshes much better.

J-14: Is it one big bromance on set?
Logan:
We hang out all the time on set and off. We always have those times where we fight and get into arguments. If you are with somebody for fifteen hours, there is going to be drama, but I've never laughed so hard in my life than with these guys. Honestly, the whole day is full of laughing.

And BTR just premiered the music video for their newest single, "Famous," which goes on sale on iTunes tomorrow, June 28. James told us that the song is all about, well, being famous! "You're asking someone, 'Do you really want to be there?'" he explains to J-14. "We're just starting to realize that it is an amazing opportunity but it also means you have less privacy."
