Ramona and Beezus comes out tomorrow and J-14 chatted with Joey King, who plays Ramona about her favorite scene to film, wearing fake teeth, and the fun activities her and Selena Gomez would do off set!
J-14: Tell us about your character, Ramona.
Joey: Ramona is a girl who loves to plan things. The problem is that everything she plans just goes wrong!
J-14: How are you and Ramona different and similar?
Joey: I'm not a lot like her. I do have some differences and I do have some similarities. I'm like her because I like to pretend a lot and I have these wigs that I wear a lot. I like to dress with funky style like her. I'm different because I don't get into the same kinds of situations. Well, I kind of do but I don't get into them as much as she does.
J-14: What was your favorite scene to film?
Joey: My favorite scene to film was the water fight scene. It was so hot that day. It was so much fun to get wet and I was like, 'Come on guys, get me wetter!" We had to do it from a lot of different angles, so we did a lot of takes. I loved it. I was like, "Come on! Let's do one more!"
J-14: What was the hardest part about playing Ramona?
Joey: The hardest part about playing Ramona was wearing fake teeth. I lost 6 teeth during the movie, so I had to wear those fake teeth everyday. Every week I was at the dentist! Sometimes they got really uncomfortable but you can take them in and out.
J-14: What was it like working with Selena?
Joey: She was so sweet! She is awesome to work with. I loved working with her! She has a computer and I asked if we could make movies on it. We wound up making a bunch of YouTube videos.
J-14: Were you a fan of Selena's prior to working with her?
Joey: I liked Wizards of Waverley Place. I didn't know that Selena was going to be playing my sister until I did the screen test. I was like, "Oh, if I get this then she will be playing my sister!" It was just really nice.
