One afternoon while I was in the seventh grade I heard a song called "Swing Swing" on the radio. After the song finished the dj said it was by The All-American Rejects. As soon as I found out who the band was I asked my parents to bring me to Target. Instantly I was hooked. Ever since then I have been a huge fan of the band.

I've seen them live as many times as possible, bought their merch, every album they've come out with, and live DVD's. I remember one year at Vans Warped Tour I went to their merch tent and bought a t-shirt solely on the fact that it had a sticker on it saying "Tyson's Favorite." I really wanted to be just like the band.

I've always wanted to meet them but never had the chance. Then all of sudden it's years later and I'm at the Holiday Inn in Secaucus, NJ and my friend Chris calls me and says, "Nate! The drummer from The Rejects is down in the lobby. Come down here if you want to me him." Instantly, I grabbed my stuff and I ran downstairs to the lobby. No one was there, but then I walked out into the front and not only was AAR's drummer Chris there, but Nick and Mike the guitarists were there too. I wasn't sure where Tyson was but, I was so still stoked to meet these guys.

I walked up to them and said, "Uh hey, I'm Nate." I stuttered nervously -- it was quite comical. I introduced myself to all them and to have something to talk about I told them about how we recorded our first record with Josh Cain the guitarist of Motion City Soundtrack. Their bands have toured together and they are friends. Mike told me they had just finished the part of Warped Tour that they were on and were waiting for their ride to the airport. They we were a rad group of guys and I couldn't believe I met them.

After we said bye, I walked back to our hotel room and was like, "Shoot, I didn't even think to get a picture!" Everyone in my band were like, "You're so stoked aren't you?" I told them that they had no idea! There's nothing like running into one of your favorite bands!
