Tamar Kaprelian is a super talented singer and musician who got her record deal in an exciting way -- she won a Myspace singing contest chosen by OneRepublic! You've definitely already heard her song "New Day" -- it's been featured on shows like The Hills and Secret Life of the American Teenager.
As a fan of both shows, and a huge fan of Tamar, I was beyond excited when she stopped by the office to chat. Tamar told me all about her album and the inspiration behind it. Did you know she used to date singer/musician Tyler Hilton (he played himself on One Tree Hill)? He even influenced some of the songs on Tamar's album after he broke her heart. Tamar doesn't stress it though. "It's the best form of revenge," she jokes.
There will be a q&a to come, but for now, I just had to get the word out about Tamar's debut album. Tamar was kind enough to send me a copy, and I must say it's pretty sweet! My favorite song is "New Day." But I also really love "Sinner or a Saint" which is actually the title of her CD! Tamar's beautiful voice adapts perfectly to reflect whatever she's singing about.
