Hey J-14ers,
Trick-or-treat! I'm so excited because Halloween is my favorite holiday. In fact, we're eating candy corn in the J-14 office right now!
I pretty much love everything about the holiday, and not even because of the candy (though, you guessed it -- candy corn is the greatest Halloween guilty pleasure). I love the color scheme (purple, black, and orange!), the costumes (and costume parties!, the scary movies, and the creepy decorations! Plus, here on the East Coast, October is a gorgeous month -- that fall smell is in the air and the leaves are changing colors. It's all pretty awesome.
Last year, I hung out with Greek's Amber Stevens who told me she also loves this scary holiday -- because her birthday is October 7, so she had a lot of Halloween-themed birthday parties as a kid! "I was famous for them," she told J-14. "I actually still have people from elementary school come up to me -- people I haven't seen in like 10 years -- and they're like, 'I remember your Halloween parties. They were awesome.'"
Amber had a tennis court in her backyard, so her parents would decorate it and have her epic parties there. "We gave all the kids little flashlights but they wouldn't shine out light -- they would just glow," she explains. "We'd turn all the lights off to the tennis court and everyone would run. And we'd wrap people in toilet paper for the mummy game."
How fun is that?! Just like Amber, I'm excited to celebrate this weekend -- and to keep eating some candy corn! So tell me -- what are your Halloween plans?
