One of my fave bands of all time is Less Than Jake. A lot of LTJ fans cite Hello Rockview of their fave, but personally, I wore out my copy of Anthem so badly that I had to pick up a second CD (maybe it's time to buy the mp3 version, eh?).
That's why I was so excited to hear that Less Than Jake was putting out a new CD called TV/EP -- my BFF Heather and I were obsessed with punk TV covers back in the day, so it's kind of like this album was made for me. TV/EP drops today, October 12, and it infuses TV theme songs with LTJ's classic ska & pop-punk filled sound. The best part? They covered the iCarly theme song! Check it out here:
Some of the tracks are totally random commercial clips -- they cover the Freecreditreport.com and Kit Kat songs -- and then they cover some classic TV cartoon theme songs as well, like Scooby Doo and Animaniacs. But my faves are definitely the iCarly, SpongeBob Squarepants, and That 70's Show covers.
What do you think about Less Than Jake covering TV theme songs? Did they do a good job with the iCarly theme?
