Hi J-14ers!

When I went to Peru earlier this year, it was just shocking to see how the young girls there live. At heart, they're no different than you and me -- but their surroundings and their lifestyles are so different that it's heartbreaking to see.

That's why I've always been so impressed with the charity my friend Tammy Tibbetts created last year called She's the First. The organization is committed to promoting girls' education around the globe, but especially in developing countries. And the empowering part of the mission is that it's all about giving underprivileged girls the opportunity to be the first in their families to break through impossible barriers.

The cause speaks so much to so many people that tons of celebs have donated their time and efforts to be part of the mission too. In fact, when I went to the She's The First Soiree celebrating the organization's first birthday on November 1, I ran into singers Shontelle and Cara Salimando. And JoJo also had a taped a message just for the big bash!

Turns out Shontelle is a big supporter of the cause because she herself has broken through some big "firsts." She was the first girl to graduate from her school in Barbados! It's no wonder her hit song is called "Impossible!"

And you can do your part to help girls' education around the world by purchasing a She's the First bracelet by clicking here.
