Lee DeWyze Lives It Up in NYC

Hey J-14ers,

Last night I get to check out American Idol season nine winner Lee DeWyze perform songs from his upcoming debut album Live It Up for fans at the PC Richard & Son Theater in New York City.

I met Lee at the meet & greet before his performance -- he was so nice and down-to-earth. He was humming tunes and meeting fans who had won a contest to see him.

The set itself was awesome. I was a fan of Lee's during American Idol, but seeing him live proved to me that he really did deserve to win. He kept smiling at fans during guitar solos, his gratefulness to them evident, as well as talking to the whole audience between songs. He was psyched to be back in NYC, and the energy showed as he jumped around on set and dove into his emotional songs like "Weightless," "Dear Isabelle," and my favorite song of the night, "Beautiful Like You." But it was when he belted out a sincere, heartfelt cover of "Hallelujah" that I knew I was really sold on Lee and his tunes!

Live It Up drops November 16, and Lee's single "Sweet Serendipity" is available now. I got to record his whole show with the new Sony Bloggie, including "Sweet Serendipity." Check out what it sounds like live here:

Tell me what you think of Lee DeWyze's new song!
