J-14 Editor Blog: Dan Radcliffe Succeeds on Broadway With Tons of Trying

Hi J-14ers!

What I love about Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe is that he's one of the most recognizable faces on this planet and one of the richest young actors in the world, yet he's so super down-to-earth and, well, normal.

You'd think someone with so much fame and wealth might show off or seem unrelatable, but Dan is the polar opposite. In fact, a few weeks ago, when I asked the Harry Potter cast what their first day on the set was like, everyone raved that part of the reason it was so easy to fit in was that Dan himself made everyone feel included -- no matter how big their role was. Awww...

With the last of the film series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, hitting theaters July 15, Dan could have done anything he wanted in the world. But what did he choose? Broadway!

Even though Dan is an old pro on the Broadway stage, having appeared in the acclaimed play Equus, he decided to challenge himself even more -- with a Broadway musical! And no, Dan had no experience singing and dancing. So what did he do? He learned!

For a full year, Dan worked his butt off learning to dance and ultimately landing the lead role in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway in New York City. And now every night, he gets up there and struts his stuff like a pro.

I was lucky enough to get to see the show last week -- and W.O.W. If you already loved Dan as Harry Potter, this song-and-dance role will impress you even more. Plus his natural charm is simply irresistible!

But enough from me... take a look at this video to see Dan perform "Brotherhood of Men" (one of my fave numbers!) from the musical on The Today Show.
