
After months of endless speculation, the long-awaited casting news of the two male leads of The Hunger Games has finally been announced. And drumroll, please...
The Last Song's Liam Hemsworth will star as Gale Hawthorne and Bridge to Terabithia and The Kids are All Right's Josh Hutcherson will star as Peeta Mellark.

Liam and Josh will be joining Jennifer Lawrence who will be playing Katniss Everdeen.
Other actors who were rumored to be up for the movie include Avan Jogia and Logan Lerman for the role of Gale and Alex Pettyfer and Lucas Till for Peeta.

J-14 reported last Sunday that Lucas had just screen tested for the movie and was hoping to get the role, but he's happy with the choice of Josh as Peeta. "I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and I'm sure Josh Hutcherson will do a good job as Peeta," he says. "I'm definitely going to check out the movie with my little brother!"
The movie based on the Suzanne Collins' trilogy of novels will hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
