Wizards triumphed over vampires this weekend -- at least at the box office.
The opening of Harry Potter's final chapter, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 2, has been shattering movie records left and right. In particular, the film earned $92.1 million domestically on its opening day on Friday, which is $20 million more than The Twilight Saga: New Moon earned on its opening day, which held the previous record with $72.7 million.

Not just that... the eighth Harry Potter film also set a record for midnight screenings with $43.5 million, beating the previous record holder, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with $30 million.
To put that in more perspective, just on opening day Friday, the last Harry Potter film brought in more money than four of the previous HP films did their entire opening weekends.
