J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around... and this week's pick is The Band Perry!

Here are five things you need to know about The Band Perry who are currently touring across the U.S.!

1. Country crooners The Band Perry, consists of siblings Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar, and piano), Reid Perry (bass guitar), and Neil Perry (drums, mandolin, and accordion). "We have always jammed together in the living room even though we were in separate bands and about six years ago the boys had gotten way taller than me, logistics had all worked out. They lost their matching bowl cuts that they had for years and it was time to become The Band Perry," Kimberly tells J-14 about how it all began. "So that's really how we got our start and really tie the knot as a family band."

2. Not just your typical country band, they've won over audiences and dominated the charts with the mixture of genres in their music, including pop and rock and roll. "We love the roots and where we've come from in both rock and roll and country music, but we're 20-some-year-olds living in 2011 so we speak with a really modern voice too," Kimberly says.

3. Though being in a band with your siblings might sound a little crazy, for the Perrys, it comes natural. "I'm Reid, I am the middle child so I'm titled the 'Peacemaker,'" Reid tells J-14 of his role in the family (and the band!). "We've been doing this for about 13 years so it's kind of all we've ever known."

4. The Perry's self-titled debut album has a little bit of something for everyone. "Each of our songs are kind of like characters. We didn't want any two to look just alike or sound just alike so we have everything from spitfire to hopeless romance and everything in between," Kimberly tells us. "There's definitely a song for every moment of your day."

5. Their hit song "If I Die Young" remains close to Kimberly's heart as one of her favorites on the album. "I love 'If I Die Young' for a thousand reasons. I mean it was our very first kind of giant hello to country music and it was also the very first song we had written for our album," Kimberly tells J-14. "So in a lot of respect it was our crown jewel of this project."
