We love discovering new music and we hope you do too because on the 14th of every month the J-14 staff will be giving you our top 14 songs that are on our playlist of the moment!
My November playlist is heavily inspired by the different musicians and bands that I've seen within the past year. From electro-pop tracks that get you up on your feet dancing to more insightful rock songs that make you think, I can't get the following songs out of my head.

Nicole's Top 14 Songs of November 2011
1. "You Make Me Feel..." [feat. Sabi] - Cobra Starship
From the very first time I heard this catchy number online I knew I was going to be hooked to this feel good tune. Fast forward a couple of months later and it's still my favorite song to listen to off Cobra Starship's new album Night Shades, whether on my drive home from work or dancing around to in my room.
2. "Oh Well, Oh Well" - Mayday Parade
"Oh Well, Oh Well" has a little bit of everything that I look for in a good song - a gradual build up, a catchy chorus, and different melodies from beginning to end. Not to mention lead vocalist Derek Sanders' and drummer (and vocalist!) Jake Bundrick's harmonies are brilliantly orchestrated in this single.
3. 'Killer" - The Ready Set
Jordan Witzigreuter, of the one man band The Ready Set, continues to put out some of the most catchiest, electro-pop tunes that I've ever heard. Be warned, this song in particular off his new EP Feel Good Now, has a chorus that will undoubtedly get stuck in your head for days. Don't say I didn't warn you.
4. "Time Travel" - Never Shout Never
"Time Travel" is a song like no other and honestly, though I don't quite get it, the psychedelic feel makes it stand out from all the traditional pop-rock tunes that are being spit out of the industry today. Though it's definitely a change from classic Christofer Drew tunes, his sound has matured, much like himself.
5. "Stereo Hearts" [feat. Adam Levine] - Gym Class Heroes
"I only pray you'll never leave me behind... because good music can be so hard to find..." Maroon 5's Adam Levine croons in this Gym Class Heroes collab. This song is definitely a piece of good music. Though I can't listen to the radio without hearing this tune over the airwaves, I wouldn't have it any other way. With it's infectious beat and Adam's smooth vocals, I'm confident that I'll never get tired of it. This song can play on my stereo any day.
6. "Fall Apart" - Every Avenue
I've been a fan of Every Avenue for awhile now so when I heard they had a new album Bad Habits coming out, I was psyched. This song is definitely a stand out for me and a song that most definitely everyone who's ever gone through a bad breakup can relate to.
7. "I Like It Like That" [feat. The New Boyz] - Hot Chelle Rae
Just when I thought they wouldn't be able to top sing-along "Tonight, Tonight," this song proves that these boys are more than just a one hit wonder. There's nothing I'd rather do than blast this with my car windows down and sing along.
8. "Thanks For Nothing" - The Downtown Fiction
Ever just wanted to vent out some steam and frustrations in song? This is definitely the song to do it with. Reminiscent of Cee Lo Green's "Forget You," The Downtown Fiction aren't afraid to tell off the demons of their past in this catchy pop-rock number.
9. "Must Be The Music" - The Summer Set
This is just one song off pop-rock band The Summer Set's latest album Everything's Fine that can instantly put me in a good mood and make me want to get up and dance. With lead vocalist Brian Dales' unique vocals and the chemistry the band portrays during live shows, it's a wonder these guys haven't made their way to the top of the charts... yet.
10. "Rapid Eye Movement" - David Cook
A song about love, desperation, and hope, David Cook's "Rapid Eye Movement" has been a case of true love for me. From it's emotional lyrics to the instrumental ending, his sophomore album This Loud Morning tells a story and this is the perfect ending as the last track of the album... or is it just the beginning? Not to mention the ghostly "mayday, somebody save me" chants that fade in to the music in the last few seconds. Chills.
11. "Something to Believe In" - Parachute
Parachute's new album The Way it Way has been on constant rotation since it was released this past May. "Something to Believe In" has remained as my go-to feel good song after having a rough day or remind me of the good times I had this summer.
12. "Girls Do What They Want" - The Maine
An oldie but a goodie, I haven't listened to The Maine's Can't Stop Won't Stop album in a couple of years -- until this fall when I came across their CD while cleaning my room. I instantly fell back in love with these guys, especially this song that makes me proud to be an independent young woman.
13. "Oh Darling" [feat. Cady Groves] - Plug In Stereo
This duet by Plug In Stereo's Trevor Dahl and punk-rock up-comer Cady Groves is nothing short of being sugary sweet music to my ears. A feel good song, it's a little bit of a fantasy that any girl could hope for, especially being sung to by this cutie.
14. "Rumor Mill" - We Are The In Crowd
I recently discovered We Are The In Crowd within the past couple of months and let me tell you, this guy-girl duo's tracks have quickly become an anthem of my fall. This song in particular, in which vocalist Tay Jardine stands up to bullies and rumors about the band, is one that I can't get out of my head.
