In mid-October, Selena Gomez was the victim of serious death threats. Her alleged stalker Thomas Brodnicki, who has a history of mental illness and criminal activity for stalking, traveled from Chicago to L.A. to meet her, visited her workplace at least three times, and has told people he had conversations with God about killing Selena. Selena said she was in "extreme fear" for her life and petitioned for a restraining order against Thomas.
A hearing was just held and an L.A. judge had dismissed the charges. "After a preliminary hearing the judge over our strong objection ruled that the defendant lacked the intent to cause fear to the victim and dismissed the case. We are evaluating our next step," Los Angeles County District Attorney spokesperson Sandi Gibbons said.
Selena still has a temporary restraining order against Thomas and a hearing is set for November 23 to see if it will become permanent.
