It was a big weekend for Beyonce and Jay-Z (Real name: Shawn Carter)! The couple, who first revealed their pregnancy to the world at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, gave birth to their first child on Saturday night -- a little girl named Blue Ivy Carter. (It was first reported that her name was Ivy Blue, but actress Gwenyth Paltrow later confirmed on Twitter that it is Blue Ivy.)
Although there is no official confirmation of Blue Ivy's arrival, some of the couple's closest friends and family have Tweeted their congratulations! "Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih," Rihanna wrote. And Beyonce's sister Solange Tweeted, "The most beautiful girl in the world."

UPDATE 1/10, 11:59 A.M. ET: Beyonce and Jay-Z released this statement about Blue Ivy's birth: "Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support."
