J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around... and this week's pick is Breathe Carolina!
Here are five things you need to know about Breathe Carolina who you can catch on the Vans Warped Tour all summer long!
1. Electronic rock duo Breathe Carolina consists of David Schmitt and Kyle Even. From Denver, CO, the band was formed when David and Kyle were snowed in together, hit it off, and messed around on their computer making their first song. Now, they've been together for about five years with three albums under their belt. "We've just been able to experiment a lot more," David tells J-14 about how their music had evolved throughout the years. "Just getting older, trying to find our sound and having fun while doing it."
2. Kyle best describes Breathe Carolina's sound as "energetic, eclectic, and spontaneous".
3. After gaining major radio success with the single "Blackout" last year, the guys are hoping to do the same for 2012. "I think the biggest highlight is getting a chance to be involved with radio and having fun," David says. "[We're] hoping to achieve the same thing with all of our music and have fun with it."
4. The group will be playing the Vans Warped Tour for the third time this summer. What are they looking forward to most of all? "Hanging with all the homies and making some new ones!" David tells J-14.
5. Breathe Carolina just released their latest single "Hit And Run". "It's just about realizing that you're kind of into a certain someone," David says. "I've had my fun but wanting more than that."
