We recently caught up with Emblem3 -- the California boys who stole our hearts with original song "Sunset Boulevard" on the first week of 'The X Factor' auditions, and made it on to the boot camp round. We got the scoop on the history of the band and what they really think of the judges.
J-14: How did you come up with the name Emblem3?
Emblem3: We needed something to represent our music, like an icon, like an emblem, and we were like, "Emblem kind of sounds cool." So we used that word, and the three stands for a lot of things. It's a really powerful number. It can mean mind, body and soul. It can mean the threefold cord is not easily broken. There's just a lot of things, like the tripod is the strongest foundation and then obviously there's the three of us, so it all goes together.
J-14: What did you think of the judges' reactions to your audition?
Emblem3: The reaction that we got from them couldn't have been better. It was a dream come true, literally. We didn't drive home, we floated home. Our spirits were soaring. We were thankful too, so thankful to have that opportunity.
J-14: What do you think of the new judges?
Emblem3: I think they are excellent judges. They're great. I think Demi is cute, Britney is awesome, L.A. Reid is boss, Simon Cowell is the king. We couldn't have asked for a cooler array of judges. Their personalities just blend so perfectly. The chemistry is perfect. They're very entertaining and very fun. And Demi's cute like I said. We kind of have a crush on her.
J-14: What was it like when she tweeted that she has a crush on you guys?
Emblem3: It was crazy. We freaked out. We screamed like a bunch of little girls. She tweeted that she had a crush, so maybe she's Facebook stalking us. You never know. She probably has a crush on Keaton though. He's the cute one. This is the problem with being in a group. You always conflict on which girls you like. We've been doing this since we were in elementary school. It's a never-ending cycle.
