While hanging out on the set of the new horror film, Old 37, singer (and Miley Cyrus' sister!) Brandi Cyrus and Abercrombie & Fitch model Maxwell Zagorski gave J-14 an inside scoop on how they got involved in acting, what it's been like on the scenes of their new film, and their favorite horror flicks!

J-14: How did you get involved with the new horror film Old 37?
Brandi Cyrus:
A couple of years ago I was given the script at the SXSW festival, where I was performing with my band Frank + Derol. I was working with Dayna Ghiraldi of Big Picture Media, one of the producers, when I met the writer Paul Travers and got on board with the film!
Maxwell Zagorski: I auditioned several times to land the role of Jason. It was a really fun process. After reading entire script, I knew wanted to be involved in the project.

J-14: Have you always wanted to act?
Brandi:
Ya know I've been on numerous sets and am around it a lot. It's not something I'm super passionate about, which for me is music, but I've always been interested in acting and film making and now that I'm getting the opportunity to do it, I really love it! It's been a great experience so far, and I hope to do more of it!
Maxwell: It wasn't until about three years ago I knew I wanted to act and about two years ago when I got serious that I could do this. I've played sports my entire life and it's that competitive nature and hard work/practice mentality that helps motivate me in all my acting.

J-14: Have you always been a fan of horror movies?
Brandi:
When I was younger I was always terrified to watch scary movies. When I was ten or so I snuck into the living room where my parents were watching 'Poltergeist', without them knowing, and ended up having nightmares for years! I don't think I watched another scary movie until I was 17. But now they are some of my favorites!
Maxwell: I've always enjoyed horror movies growing up. Growing up, my family would always watch different horror movies. I remember my dad and I watched 'House of a 1000 Corpses' randomly one night, and to this day it's my favorite horror movie.

J-14: What's it like on the set of Old 37?
Brandi:
It's been the best time! Seriously, the whole cast and crew are all so great and easy to get along with. It's always a blast when everyone can balance keeping it professional but also having fun.
Maxwell: The set has been great and the cast and crew have been amazing to work with. This has definitely been a great learning experience. The most interesting part is living with the cast members. In the beginning, it felt like 'The Real World Old 37'.

J-14: Without giving anything away, how would you describe the film to our readers? Why should we go and check out the movie?
Brandi:
Well it's definitely gonna be scary! That's for sure. It'll be bloody and you'll be screaming, but if you're into that then it's gonna be a super fun movie to see! I think horror fans will definitely be stoked on this one! Look out for Old 37!
Maxwell: Old 37 is a unique film because it is a real American horror film that anyone can relate to. At least shooting it, I feel there's a good comparison to 'Drive' and a film like 'Texas Chainsaw' combined. It's not going to be your campy horror film look and I think viewers are going to be surprised to see just how cool the film and different action shots are going to be on the screen.
