One Direction released their highly anticipated music video for "You And I" on Friday, and try as they might, Directioners weren't able to beat the 24-hour VEVO record. In one day 1D's video garnered 6,976,288 views, which pales in comparison to Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" video, which got over 19 million views over the same time period.
While Miley still technically holds the VEVO record, One Direction beat it in our hearts. After all, seven million views is a total win considering none of the guys took off their shirts off or even rolled up their sleeves. (Miley could learn a thing or two from them!) Any video that starts with Niall looking hot and confused is a winner in our hearts.
