The Best Halloween Disney Channel Original Movies: Twitches and More

Halloween is just around the corner, which means it’s about to be the spookiest time of the year. Between dressing up and eating your body weight in candy, you’ll definitely want to block off some time to watch a few Halloween-themed Disney Channel Original Movies. There were some serious classics and some that may have missed the mark. If you need a refresher on which ones you should be glued to the TV for, then you came to the right place.

The editors here at J-14 got into the spirit of Halloween by making a definitive list that ranks the most well known Halloween DCOMS. Number one is obviously the best, and we’ve ranked the movies all the way down to number ten. Everything from Halloweentown to Twitches to Don’t Look Under the Bed made the list. Find out whether or not your favorite Halloween Disney Channel Original Movie is high on our list or not. Maybe throw on a costume while you’re at it. Halloweentown

The original Halloweentown is a Disney Channel classic and we literally couldn't get through the spooky season without it, which is why we're ranking this movie at number one. Marnie and Grandma Aggie were the witches that made us want to be witches. Not to mention, who wouldn't want to go to Halloweentown? And clearly, we're not the only ones who were completely obsessed with this DCOM. There were two more installments that came after it because this one just wasn't enough.

Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge

This movie comes in at number two on the definitive list of Disney Channel's best halloween movies. Again, we were put under Marnie and Aggie's spell and couldn't escape. The second installment of the saga is about something that goes terribly wrong in Halloweentown. Of course, it's up to Aggie and Marnie to fix it before Kalabar and his son take control.

Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire

This iconic story comes in at number three. Why? Because it's just the right amount of spooky and funny. The movie follows two siblings as they try to save their mom from a real-life vampire. Oh yeah and we totally love the fact that the mom is played by Caroline Rhea. It gives us total Sabrina The Teenage Witch vibes.

Under Wraps

You'd think a movie about a mummy that has come to life would be incredibly terrifying, but Harold is nothing like that in this Disney Channel Original Movie. We've ranked Under Wraps at number four because of this lovable mummy. Come on, we know you'd want a mummy friend to hang with Halloween – especially if he was goofy.

Don't Look Under The Bed

We've got to hand it to Disney Channel with this one, it was horrifyingly scary. In case you forgot, the movie is about a girl whose imaginary friend sells her out to the Boogeyman. Yes, the literal Boogeyman. Even saying that word is scary AF. This movie comes in at number five just because Halloween is about getting spooked and this gets the job done. We just can't rank it any higher because it just creeps us out in general.

Twitches

Who doesn't love our favorite '90s twins Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry? They play two twin witches – hence, Twitches – in the Disney Channel movie. We're ranking this at number six. It wasn't a Halloweentown classic, but it was lighthearted and fun. Not to mention the girls' outfits were totally on point.

Phantom at the Megaplex

This movie is ranking in at number seven. It's loosely based on The Phantom of the Opera, but it's pretty much completely different. There's some crazy weird stuff that goes down at a theater on the night of the movie premiere for Midnight Mayhem. Between malfunctioning equipment and disappearing employees, things get pretty bizarre and sometimes we just weren't sure what to make of the plot. But, if you think about it, the situation would be pretty scary.

Halloweentown High

This was the third installment in the Halloweentown movies and you know, the second is never as good as the first. The third is never even as good as the second. So, even though we got our annual dose of Marnie, Aggie and their Halloweentown antics, it can just never top the two that came before it so we're ranking this one at number eight.

Scream Team

This movie legitimately had the weirdest plot ever, which is why we've ranked this Halloween thriller at number ten. A pair of siblings lose their grandfather, yet they feel like his soul is trying to tell them something but aren't sure what that is. They get the help from three other ghosts to try to find out and release the grandfather's soul from the evil ghost. It's not the worst movie we've ever seen, but it's not that the top of the list, that's for sure.
