Next week, on July 7th, it will mark 7 months since Louis Tomlinson's mother, Johannah Deakin, passed away. In the past 7 months, Louis has made great strides in his solo career, continued to be an incredible dad to his son Freddie Tomlinson and rekindled an old flame with Eleanor Calder – amongst other things. There's no doubt that Johannah would be incredibly proud.

Louis is opening up about the relationship he had with his mother now more than ever before. Her sickness was kept completely private. No one even knew she was battling Leukemia until the announcement of her death went viral. Louis and Johannah were really close, so not wanting to talk about the last months and weeks of her life makes sense.

However, in a new interview with The Guardian, Louis talks about the exact moment he found out his mother was terminally ill. When someone is terminally ill, this means that there is nothing else the doctors can do for their sickness and they will lose their life.

Louis was celebrating love, happiness, and the future when his mother told him her fate. He said he was, "At Jamie Vardy’s wedding of all places. Talk about your places, for something super-traumatic. My mum told me, uh, yeah, that she was definitely terminal."

Jamie Vardy is a professional soccer player in the U.K. He got married on May 25, 2016, and that's when Louis got the news. It was 7 months later that Johannah lost her battle. The details are incredibly tragic. But it's pretty amazing how far Louis has come mentally where he feels comfortable enough to share such intimate tidbits from his life and this awful situation with his fans. He has not only become transparent but also relatable.

It was just days before her death, where Louis asked her how he was supposed to perform his first ever solo single on the X-Factor with Steve Aoki without her. It was this story that Louis shared that shows what kind of person Johannah really was.

Louis said, "I remember saying to her: 'Mum, how the f-ck do you expect me to do this now?' And she didn’t swear much, my mum. She’d always tell me off for swearing. And this time she was like: 'You’ve got to f-cking do it, it’s as simple as that.'"

And that's just what he did. Louis f-cking did it. He nailed it, actually.
