Camila Cabello is inevitably rising to solo superstardom after leaving Fifth Harmony at the end of 2016. Ever since she's made a name for herself on her own, she hasn't held back with her feelings whether she puts them out there in her music or during interviews. Camila is here to speak her truth and she's not backing down. In a recent interview with Elle magazine, the "Havana" singer talked about how to spot fake friends. While she didn't name any names or even outright say she's had to deal with fake pals, we can't help but look at the 5H girls.

So, what's the secret to figuring out whether a friend is your ride or die bestie or completely two-faced? Camila said, "I think the only way to know is time. I feel like there are instances and circumstances in your life that always change." Hmmm…

Her words get even more suspicious, in our minds. She continued, "You can think someone’s your friend, and it could be out of convenience, or there was something in it for them, or whatever. And a year later, something happens and you really need help, or all of a sudden they have to stand up for you, and it could be inconvenient for them or not benefit them. And they don’t have your back."

Yikes. Again, she never says this is all from personal experience, but it kind of seems that way. We're just speculating here, but could she actually be talking about Fifth Harmony? Could they have been pretending to be friends with her for the sake of the band and then turned on her as soon as she left? What's interesting is that the girls publicly said they had no idea she was going to leave the band when she did. Her story is different. She said they knew. There's a chance she could be referencing all of that with these quotes. Camila could have thought they had her back, that they supported her decision to leave the band but then was thrown under the bus when they said they had no idea it was going to happen.

She finished off by saying, "And you’re like, ‘Ok, that friendship was circumstantial. You were only my friend when it was easy.’ What’s hard is you can’t tell from the beginning." Again, maybe she's saying that she couldn't tell when Fifth Harmony formed years ago about the girls' true personalities. She only saw it when she left. Because Camila didn't point any fingers, we can't know for sure. But, she has a lot to say about the issue so it's really hard not to wonder if she was pulling from her past.
