Ariana Grande is absolutely sick and tired of being treated as a man's object. The star wrote a long message post on Twitter to explain a situation that went down when her and her boyfriend Mac Miller went out to buy food and ran into a fan in the parking lot. She explained in detail how excited the fan was to meet her boyfriend, but after that the excitement was taken a bit too far and the kid said something quite degrading about her while she was close enough to hear.

The singer has spoken out against various situations in which she felt objectified or was treated as less than because she is a woman, and in particular a woman in the public eye who lives out her romantic life out in the open for the world to see. In this one particular moment that took place this week, the "Side to Side" singer decided it was an opportunity to be open with her fans about an encounter that left her feeling a bit sad and infuriated.

In the text post, she wrote about the encounter referring to Mac as "M" saying:

"Went to pick up food with my boyfriend tonight and a young boy followed us to the car to tell Mac that he's a big fan. He was loud and excited and by the time M was seated in the drivers seat he was literally almost in the car with us. I thought this was all cute and exciting until he said 'Ariana is sexy as h**l man I see you'."

"Hitting that? the f**k?? This may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I felt sick and objectified. I was also sitting right there when he said it. (?) I've felt really quiet and hurt since that moment. Things like happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women's sense of fear and inadequacy. I'm not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure."

Ariana expressed her frustration saying that it was all fun and games until the boy made that degrading comment. She compared the incident to women all over being treated as someone's property and as things men only use for entertainment. On the next page she went on to clarify that her relationship is nothing like that, and she is more than "a piece of meat" to her boyfriend.

"I'm an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect. It hurts my heart that so many young people are so comfortable enough using these phrases and objectifying women with such ease. I felt like speaking out about this one experience tonight because I know very well that most women know the sensation of being spoken about in an uncomfortable way publicly or taken advantage of publicly by a man."

"We need to talk about these moments openly because they are harmful and they live on inside of us as shame. We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don't, it will just continue. We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS."

Ari's relationships and dating life have been under under public scrutiny for a long time and she has talked about how frustrating it is to be known as someone's girlfriend instead of being known for your own merits and accomplishments like when she was with rapper Big Sean.

It is unfortunate that a fan so young said this to Ariana without thinking anything of it and that it hurt her feelings. We do hope that after sharing this story with the world she was able to realize that the boy's words do not define her or her relationship and that the love that she shares with her guy is much more meaningful than the way the kid described it.

UPDATE: Soon after Ariana posted the message, she took to Twitter to point out the negative messages she received because of it and remained true to her original words by saying women are not in men's control just because of how they look, dress, act or whom they date.

Can you believe that the young fan said this to Ariana in front of her? Tell us in the comments.
