A former Harry Potter star Jim Tavaré was involved in a terrifying car accident that left him with some severe injuries and put him in a hospital's intensive care unit. The actor, who played Tom the Innkeeper at the Leaky Cauldron in the movies, had a head-on collision that damaged his neck, lungs, legs and ribs.

The public was informed about the situation on Facebook with a post that gave fans an updated them on his status, along with a picture of him from his hospital bed. His wife Laure Tavaré wrote in the caption saying: "This is Laura here. Now that his family have been informed, Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision. He's currently in ICU intensive care."

"He has 15 broken ribs, fractures in both breastbones, a punctured lung, multiple breaks in his right leg, and a broken neck. He's had 2 blood transfusions so far and is about to go in for his first surgery. This is for real, not a movie role. Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this."

The photo showed the actor giving a thumbs up to the camera, showing that despite being physically hurt he is staying positive through this awful situation.

Jim only appeared in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban, the third film of the eight films, but HP fans adore anyone who has been involved in the making of the films and sent so many sweet messages on his Facebook wishing him a speedy recovery.

It is good to see his wife is at his side and that he is staying positive at a time like this. We wish him all the best and hope he recovers quickly.
