Miles Heizer and Brandon Flynn have said that they are friends and nothing more, even if a recent video of them kissing on the lips might contradict that. The two guys, who play Alex Standall and Justin Foley, were among the first members of the 13 Reasons Why that had to deal with rumors surrounding their personal lives after the show first aired on Netflix.
The guys were spotted all over Instagram posting photos of them spending time together, which caused some fans to believe that they were more than just friends.
A scene in a short film Miles and Brandon appeared in together by the name Home Movies pt. 1, shows them kissing on the lips. The film was directed by Kevin Rios and was shown at the Outfest Fusion Film Festival, which honors people of color and LGBTQ people.
There is a somewhat of a visible chemistry between them in the clip, but that could just simply be attributed to them being talented actors which fans already know from their work on the Netflix series.
Check it out, warning there is some strong message:
The description of the video, which was published two months ago, reads: "In this home movie collection of gay men, memory serves as an act of hope, power, and above all, resilience."
The narration talks about the hardships that homosexual men and women have to face when coming out and the judgment they get from society while displaying loving visuals between same-sex couples that show the normality of their relationships with one another.
While the movie does show Miles and Brandon kissing, a representative for Miles was already denied the rumors and told Page Six that the guys are actually just good friends. “This is a false report. Miles and Brandon are friends from the show but are not dating,” the rep said.
It is important to not immediately assume people are dating just because they display any kind of affection toward one another on social media and to always keep in mind that even when they kiss on screen, it is their job as actors to do so and to not take it as truth for their real lives.
We are glad Miles and Brandon appeared in such a powerful project together, and can't wait to see them back on screen together in season two of 13 Reasons Why.
