IT'S OFFICIAL: '13 Reasons Why' Will Be Returning For a Second Season

After all the speculation, hoping and begging for Netflix to green-light a season two of hit series 13 Reasons Why – fans have finally been given the answer they had been hoping for.

That’s right! Hannah Baker, Clay Jensen, Jessica Davis, Tony Padilla, and the rest of the beloved characters from the first season will be returning for a second season.

The news came from executive producer Selena Gomez who shared a video on Instagram and wrote, “Their story isn't over. Season 2 of #13ReasonsWhy is coming.”

In the short clip, fans are able to catch glimpses of landmarks from season one, such as Tony’s red car, The Crestmont where Clay and Hannah worked together, and even Monet’s.

According to The Hollywood Reporter who was given an official synopsis from Netflix about season two; reportedly it, “picks up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's death and the start of the characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery.”

No other details were given, but given that the first season ended with a few cliffhangers it can be assumed that the story will pick up right where things left off.

Brian Yorkey, who wrote the book of the same name that inspired the series, did confirm in a previous interview with THR that Hannah’s story is still not over and she will return in a series of flashbacks throughout the story's continuation.

“She's an integral part of whatever the next chapter of the story is, and she's very much still at the center of it,” he said in the interview.

The cast has yet to sound off on this amazing news, but we bet that once they do hear the news their reactions with fans will be nothing short of epic.

No date as to when season two will premiere was given either, but we certainly hope it’s sooner than later.
