If you exist on the internet (hey there, you, the person who is reading this), you’ve probably heard of Team 10. Jake Paul‘s Team 10 house has made headlines for angering their neighbors, who complained about the noise and disruption caused by the Team 10 house’s pranks. This was all displayed in a now-infamous KTLA 5 interview, showing off the group’s shenanigans.

Even if you know of their antics, you might be wondering what Team 10 is…really. A group of creators? A business? A bunch of internet stars living together in one house like a social media fraternity? Well, it’s a bit of all the above. And with Shane Dawson’s upcoming docuseries, The Mind of Jake Paul, all will be revealed about what exactly goes on in Team 10. Here’s what you need to know about Jake’s social media squad:

What is Team 10?

Team 10 is a social media incubator and management company, co-founded by Jake. It grows influencers into superstars, and its members harness their collective power by creating videos together on their Team 10 YouTube channel and each member’s personal channel. Living and working together, they collaborate frequently. It’s part mentorship and part collaboration.

The actor told Forbes, “[Team 10]’s really an incubator for social media talent. We take people who have a lot of potential and teach them how to make content, produce it, etc. Then we move them into the house and we all collaborate. We’ve taken people with 5,000 followers and they’ve literally had millions of followers in a month.”

Current member and Jake’s rumored girlfriend, Erika Costell, explained to Refinery 29, that Jake’s goal is to be like famous producer and rapper Dr. Dre, who has helped other artists be successful in the music industry.

“Jake’s whole vision behind it was to basically be Dr. Dre of social media. He took all these people on his own label and grow them out, but he’s the center of it. That’s the easiest way I can put it because this has never been done before. It’s a whole new model, a whole new everything,” she said “[Other] influencers battle against each other. We’re all actually rooting for each other. We all want each other to do well. It’s not anything I’ve ever seen anybody else even come close to doing.”

Is Team 10 a business?

They’re very much a business, teaching young influencers how to build a brand and make money from their social following. “We show them how to monetize with brand deals, merchandise, and ad revenue…I’ve went from zero followers to millions, and I can show people how to do the same thing. I formed it because I wanted to start a crew. If you look at the biggest people on social media right now, it’s the Kardashians. My goal is to form a crew that’s bigger than them collectively. It might take us five years, but we’ll get there,” he told Forbes.

They’re not kidding about skyrocketing careers. Erika launched her YouTube channel in early July 2017, gaining over one million followers in a matter of days. Alissa Violet admitted in an old promo video that she grew her followers from 2,000 to millions in about a year.

Is Team 10 a company?

Team 10 is part of Jake’s larger talent label called TeamDom, which stands for Teen Entertainment and Media Kingdom. The Bizaardvark star is the CEO and co-founder of the label and Erika is the Operations Officer. Cameron Dallas is also Managing Partner at TGZ Capital, so there are definitely some big names behind it. In January 2017, they announced that they raised $1 million in funding. They work with companies like Coca Cola, H&M, and Burger King (as listed on their website) to create viral content for brands geared towards teenagers IRL and online. As part of TeamDom, there are different divisions of the company: Team 10, Team X, and TGZ Capital.

Why did Jake Paul create Team 10?

Erika says that Jake created Team 10 in order to “be [the] Dr. Dre of social media.” He wanted to help grow influencers and be at the center of everything. “Jake’s whole vision behind it was to basically be [the] Dr. Dre of social media. He took all these people on his own label and grow them out, but he’s the center of it. That’s the easiest way I can put it because this has never been done before. It’s a whole new model, a whole new everything,” she told Refinery29.

Why is Team 10 called Team 10?

Jake admits that the “10” in their name is arbitrary. They didn’t even have ten members when they first started! However, the “Team” is part of their name because they are a team. “We’re a team, so that’s where that came from and the 10…there’s not even 10 of us, so, I mean, it kind of just stuck. The 10 doesn’t really mean anything,” he said during their launch.

What happened with the Team 10 house?

Team 10 hit the mainstream when a KTLA 5 video went viral, after Jake’s neighbors issued a series of complaints over the ruckus in their neighborhood. Shortly after, the COO of Team 10, Nick Crompton, announced that they were no longer able to film at the Team 10 house. He said, “If we film in this house, you can face up to six months in prison because we need filming permits. We’re just going to have to vlog outside. If we want to film we need permits.”

Team 10 has respected that, but they’re currently searching for a new Team 10 house (although Jake’s name can no longer be on the lease, given the drama). The last we heard, he moved the squad in with his brother Logan Paul. Of course, Jake has been embroiled in a fair dose of controversy since then. He’s currently being sued for a Team 10 prank that involved a car horn. The victim accused the YouTuber of causing serious damage to his hearing. Yikes!

Who are the original Team 10 members?

It started with Jake, Alissa, Neels Visser, Alex Lange, AJ Mitchell, and Lucas and Marcus Dobre, although they’ve added (and lost) more members since its inception. Alex told INSTANT.me, “[Team 10]’s a group of people who live together – you can call it a squad if you want to – and what we do is we make videos, we live together, we collaborate together and that’s the beauty of it.”

Jake added, “The best part about it is that we’re all young and aspiring to do big things in Hollywood. We all just teamed up and help each other out and collaborate and love each other.”

Who else is in Team 10?

So, who’s in Team 10 and who’s out? The answer is complex. While the official website used to list a roster that included Jake, AJ, Alex, Alissa, Lucas, Marcus Dobre, Chance and Anthony, the Martinez Twins, Stan Gerards, Tessa Brooks, Tristan Tales, and Erika as part of the Team 10 fam, now the website doesn’t include a full list. However, we know Chad Tepper joined Team 10 as of July 12, 2017 and Kade Spice launched his YouTube channel on July 19, 2017.

Tessa moved out of the Team 10 house, and subsequently announced in January 2018 that she had left Team 10. In a later video explaining her decision, Tessa said, “It’s not something that is right for me anymore. We just disagree on a lot of things. Things just aren’t how they used to be.”

However, she insists that she wishes the whole squad nothing but the best. The same goes for Chance and Nick Crompton who left in May of 2018 and insist there was no behind-the-scenes drama that led to their decision to leave. On the more dramatic end of the spectrum, in November 2017, the Martinez Twins announced that they left Team 10 in a wild video in which they accused Jake of bullying them. Ouch!

In perhaps the most famous Team 10 drama to date, Alissa was kicked out of Team 10, a saga that was well documented online. Jake accused her of cheating, she accused him of emotional abuse. From there, the drama escalated with a Team 10 diss track called “It’s Everyday Bro,” followed by response parody song called “It’s Everynight Sis” that Alissa collaborated on with RiceGum. (His brother Logan Paul even jumped in with his own diss track, but the siblings have since made up.) Needless to say, Alissa is definitely out of Team 10, even if she’s still featured on the website. She’s a proud CloutGang member now.

Still, new members are joining the team. A new member of the group is Ben Hampton, a six-year-old social media star. Yep, you heard that right. He’s in first grade.

What is Team 10’s Snapchat?

The official Snapchat name for Team 10 is Team10Snaps, although the individual members of the group have their own SC accounts. Jake Paul’s Snapchat name is jakepaul19, Erika Costell’s Snapchat name is ErkCostell, and Tessa Brook’s Snapchat name is Tessa-Brooks. Chance and Anthony’s Snapchat names are chancesutton and imanthonytruj, respectively.

What is Team 10’s YouTube channel?

For the latest Team 10 YouTube videos (never mind all the individual channels from each member), subscribe to Team 10’s official YouTube channel. They release videos featuring members of the squad every Monday and Wednesday. Again, if you want to keep up with all the Team 10 members, you’ll need to go to their official YouTube channels.

What is Team 10’s address?

As you’re probably aware, the OG Team 10 house (as in, the physical home) is no longer being rented out by Team 10. But if you have something to send to Team 10, mail it to the following address:

1125 N Fairfax Ave,
West Hollywood CA 90046
PO Box 46487

The new Team 10 house was purchased by Jake for 6.925 million. It’s reportedly 15,000 square feet on a property that’s 3.5 acres in Calabasas. Um, that’s legit.

Where can you buy Team 10 merch?

Obviously, a good place to buy official Team 10 merch is on their website, from a Jake Paul It’s Everyday Bro Backpack to one of his trademark tie-dye shirts or sweatshirts. You can even purchase phone cases and hoodies with his signature on them. Fanjoy also sells Team 10 fidget spinners, jackets, shirts, and more. On the Fanjoy website, fans can also purchase merch for their favorite Team 10 members.

Can you join Team 10?

There used to be an entry form on Team 10’s official website for potential candidates to apply, but that’s long gone. Erika also opened up to Refinery29 about the selection process, explaining that she used to scout influencers on social media. However, the selection process is different now. The YouTuber says that any potential candidates need to vibe with the whole team.

“In the beginning, I used to scout for people. I would look on Instagram, see people and be like ‘Maybe they can be a member.’ We’d have a meeting with them, have them come hang out. We have had members who we thought were gonna work, and we would fly out to hang out and it just didn’t,” she said. “Now, it’s not like that. We’re not looking for people. It’s more of a chemistry thing. If you come in the house and you vibe, then you join. Right now, I honestly think that we are such a strong powerhouse, yes, of course, we’re always looking for something, but we’re not actively searching [right now]. Whoever comes along and fits, type of deal.”
