Saturday night was a huge night for Harry Styles – who made his long awaited solo performance debut on Saturday Night Live.
The One Direction singer participated in a few sketches and performed not one, but two songs. Through the second track wasn’t the song “Kiwi” as speculated before due to some treats he brought out to fans who were waiting out in the standby line. Hazza actually performed his rumored Taylor Swift track, “Ever Since New York.”

Yup, he went there and some of the lyrics definitely have fans thinking the track is inspired by the “Shake It Off” singer – who everyone knows wrote a couple of songs about him.
We’re circle back to the song but first we’re going to break down Harry’s SNL debut, by highlighting some of his best moments of the night.
It all started with a little appearance in the monologue. He sang and danced for a few seconds with Jimmy Fallon, and although it was very brief – clearly Hazza was ready to make audiences laugh.
His second appearance of the night came during a Family Feud sketch, in which the singer performed his best impression of legendary Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger. He even poked some fun at himself for going solo!
After tackling some comedy, Harry was ready to perform “Sign of the Times” live for the very first time. He performed the song beautifully and hit every single note perfectly!

Back to the second song of the night – “Ever Since New York.” The song has a very mellow vibe to it, and is very guitar heavy. The first verse of the song goes, “Tell me something, tell me something / You don’t know nothing, just pretend you do / I need something, to tell me something new
Choose your words 'cause there's no antidote for this curse or what's it’s waiting for / I must desert you just before you go.”
The chorus repeats, “Oh, tell me something I don't already know.” The second verse of the song reads, “Brooklyn saw me, empty avenues / There's no water inside this swimming pool / Almost over, that's enough from you / I've been praying, I never did before / Understand I'm talking to the walls / And I've been praying ever since New York.”

The lyrics are pretty vague, and they don’t exactly call out something about their time directly, but perhaps Hazza is trying to somehow convey his side of the story without naming specifics.
Either way, this has us beyond excited for the release of his album next month!
