When Sam & Cat officially ended, Ariana Grande posted a long message reflecting on the show and thanking her fans, but her costar Jennette McCurdy was noticeably silent. While Jennette still hasn't commented on Sam & Cat's cancellation (or her supposedly frosty relationship with Ariana) she posted a long letter to her fans on Reddit hinting that she hated the Nickelodeon show for turning her into a role model.

She wrote, "I am not a role model. I don't claim to be, I don't try to be, and I don't want to be. There was a time when I tried to live up to the title, that pedestal of a thing. Maybe it wasn't so much that I was trying to live up to it. Perhaps I thought I could and I thought I was supposed to, so I gave it my best shot."

Although Jennette says she was "role model material and then some" when she was younger and "more amiable, bubbly" and "flouncy" in her iCarly era, she doesn't feel like that anymore. In fact, she blasted the "bubblegum industry" that tried to erase her flaws.

While Jennette doesn't name names, we're pretty sure she's talking about Nickelodeon and Sam & Cat. It's so sad that she feels that way, but it's also the perfect explanation for the show's cancellation — being Sam meant being a role model for so many viewers.
