Ever since The Vamps' guitarist James McVey covered Ed Sheeran's song, "Tenerife Sea," we knew they had a special connection! In a recent interview, James said that Ed is not only one of his good friends — they also have plans to work together on some new music.

"Me and Ed speak frequently. I mean, I texted him last night! We like to keep up with what we're doing and he's been a great mentor for me personally in the last two months," he said.

Of course, since they're both so busy, it's hard for them to get time to hang out!

"We still very much want to work together but it's been difficult because his album just came out, and we're on tour a lot. We want to do it still! We'd love to."

The Vamps have previously expressed interest in collaborating with Ed, so it's good to know that they're (slowly) making progress in that direction. Plus, we didn't realize Ed and James were such good friends! Maybe they want to work on a special project together, like Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson? That would be really interesting.

Would you want to hear a collab between Ed and James? What do you think it would sound like? Tell us in the comments!
