J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around… and this week's pick is Glory Days!

Here are five things you need to know about Glory Days, whose new EP Broke In New York is out April 3!

1. New Jersey-based band Glory Days consists of vocalist Andy Tongren, guitarist Dylan Scott, bassist Julian Dimagiba, and drummer Steve Patrick. Julian, Steve, and Dylan heard Andy playing an acoustic song and approached him sing for them. After one practice, everything clicked.

  1. They credit their band name Glory Days as a homage to New Jersey's Bruce Springsteen. "For the most part though, we just thought it sounded cool and was something that could get stuck in your head," Andy tells J-14.

  2. Though they've only been a band for a short time, they've put out three albums in the span of the year. Their latest album Broke In New York speaks most personally to the band. "With Broke In New York, we finally began to write music for ourselves," Andy says. "I think the biggest difference is that our new music speaks honestly in a way that our older material couldn't because we didn't quite feel it as deeply as we do with the songs on Broke In New York."

  3. A mixture of musical genres and styles, Andy describes their sound as a melting pot. "With all four of us being songwriters, we write all of our music based on experience, therefore each song is meaningful to us," Andy says. "However, every once in a while you'll write a song that you feel on a much deeper, much more profound level; and for me, 'Find Me There' is one of those songs."

  4. "Find Me There" is the latest music video that was released off the upcoming album. "'Find Me There' is a song about loss based purely on circumstance. I think we can all agree that when it comes to relationships, timing is nearly everything," Andy tells J-14. "However, it's also about having faith that someday love will find those same two people again and that the stars will align for something special between them."
