Stefanie Scott may no longer be on the Disney Channel, playing Lexi Reed on A.N.T. Farm, and she's pretty happy about it! In a new interview with Buzzfeed, she revealed at length how excited she is about her non-Disney acting roles — and even threw a shady jab at Selena Gomez in the process.

When asked about her time on the series, Stefanie implied that her character was stifling and that she's grateful she "snuck out the back door" of the Disney Channel when her show ended in 2014. It seems like she didn't believe in the role!

“It was hard being a preteen and having to sugarcoat everything all the time. That’s one of the hardest things, not being able to express myself in a certain way or being stuck having to promote something or say something you don’t believe in. It’s kind of hard after a while when you are feeling things and having a rough time in your personal life and you can’t express your emotions through your work.”

The actress also insisted that she doesn't want to play the perfect "Disney Girl."

“I wanted to tell stories of troubled girls where everything isn’t perfect all the time. I didn’t want it to stop there and be labeled as ‘a Disney girl'. I quickly realized I wanted to do more. If you’ve been on a Disney show, people target you as being the ‘sitcom funny girl’ who can’t take herself seriously and doesn’t really have true emotions because they have to be perfect and pure — not shattered and torn in any way,” she said.

Then, she subtly dissed "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer's post-Disney movie, Spring Breakers! Stefanie says that she's glad she got cast in films like Insidious: Chapter 3 and Jem and the Holograms because they show off her true acting chops.

“It’s not that I wouldn’t do projects that are edgy, but I think the project has to have purpose and meaning and tell a real story and not just be me [partying on spring break]. I really think the universe worked it all out for me…because I got to show emotions instead of boobs.”

Wow, she definitely has a lot of feelings about this! We're just glad that she's working on projects that she enjoys more now, and we hope she feels like she can express herself better. But she probably didn't have to throw shade at Selena.
