Jason Dolley's new movie Helicopter Mom just recently hit theaters, and we chatted with the actor about his on-set experience and how different it was from Good Luck Charlie. According to Jason, Helicopter Mom was a bit "scary" to shoot at first because they encouraged improv and he was used to just memorizing his lines.

"On the set, we did almost everything with improv. We had the script in front of us of the basics we [had to cover] but other than that, the director said kind of just do whatever you want and I'm not going to call cut til I want to call cut, so just go," Jason EXCLUSIVELY tells us.

"I was actually coming from Good Luck Charlie… where we'd have our marks and knew our dialogue and this and that, and it was all very polished. Coming into this role, we were just shooting and I could make things up and do whatever I want and it was a very free environment that was awesome. It was very scary at the beginning but it actually wound up being very fun."

We love that Jason was so open about his initial feelings because it proves that trying something that's out of your comfort zone can end up being totally rewarding.
