Dance Moms matriarch Abby Lee Miller has been out of the spotlight since July 2017 because she’s been a bit preoccupied serving a 366-day jail sentence at the Victorville Federal Correctional Institution in California. However, for the first time since hanging up her dance shoes for prison garb, she is showing her face on social media and we almost didn’t even recognize her. Okay, well that’s an exaggeration. Obviously, she didn’t get a total makeover but it seems like she lost weight while behind bars and she looks damn good, to be honest. Abby posted a photo of herself with some friends who came to hang out with her during visiting hours and shared a powerful message about what it’s been like inside the walls of that jail.

Abby explained, “Sometimes in life you make mistakes I trusted the wrong people and didn’t pay any attention to things I should of. I’m more than sorry for the mistakes I have made.

My world flipped upside down when I had to enter prison. I did so with grace, the stories you read about me been a princess are untrue. I have made friends with both inmates and staff, I’ve tried to better myself, participated in anything offered to me and I am a better person for this experience.
All the press stories and speculation are not entirely correct however, I am feeling hopeful but no dates have been confirmed at this time.

I am feeling great and ready to turn over a new leaf thank you so much to everyone for your support especially my nearest and dearest I love you all ❤️ ( and yes this is me in prison )

One thing is for sure, Abby looks pretty happy despite her situation. We’re not totally sure who her visitors were but we’re just going to take a wild guess and say they are some of her former dancers and their moms. Again, that’s just speculation. Regardless of who came to spend some time with the reality television villain, we have to pay attention to her caption. Not only does she mention that she is sorry for what she did to land herself in jail – hid thousands of dollars in secret bank accounts – but she also has made friends, participated in the prison community and has tried bettering herself.

She wants her fans to know that several stories that have been published about her aren’t accurate. She didn’t mention what those were, though. The most recent report circulating the Internet right now is that Abby is due for an early release on February 20, 2018. However, that may not ring true either considering Abby said there is not a confirmed date for that to happen yet. We’re looking forward to more photos like this one before Abby makes her final exit from the prison gates. Her glam looks more on point here than it did when she was a free woman.
