There is a long list of reasons why we simply cannot wait for the highly-anticipated teen comedy Alexa & Katie to finally premiere on Netflix. If the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why is any indication of how binge-worthy this new show is going to be, we better get our popcorn ready – and prepare to not leave the house for an entire weekend while we watch it straight through, if we're being honest here.
So what's the show all about? What's the deal with the cast? We're here to tell you everything you need to know about the new series that we're all about to become totally and completely obsessed with.
What is Alexa & Katie about?
The multi-camera comedy is about two lifelong friends, Alexa and Katie, who are excitedly preparing for their freshman year of high school. Alexa is undergoing cancer treatment but as long as she has Katie by her side, she knows they'll be able to get through life and whatever it throws their way together. The core of the series is all about the bond the girls have and how they balance each other out knowing they really do have each other, no matter what.
Who is starring in Alexa & Katie?
Paris Berelc of Disney XD's Lab Rates: Elite Force and Might Med will be portraying Alexa, while newcomer Isabel May will be starring alongside as her bestie Katie.
Tiffani Thiessen of everyone's fave '90s teen sitcom Saved by the Bell, will be playing the super strict mother of Paris Berelc's character Alexa.
Playing Paris' on-screen father will be Westworld's Eddie Shin. His character Dave is an airline pilot for a living, and is super supportive of his family. The resemblance between the family members is totally there, if you ask us.
Jolie Jenkins from the show Body Of Proof plays Jennifer, the single mother of Katie who does everything in her power to keep the family afloat and better their lives.
Forever In Your Mind's Emery Kelly is in on it too. The brunette cutie, who has starred in a number of Disney shows in his day, plays Paris' on-screen brother.
As a matter of fact, this won't be the first time Emery and Paris will be working on the same show. Emery actually appeared on two episodes of Lab Rats. Now Paris didn't join the cast until the show became Lab Rats: Elite Force, but it totally counts if you ask us.
Paris' IRL boyfriend Jack Griffo from the fan-fave Nickelodeon series The Thundermans is also starring in the show. Jack will portray a character named Dylan, who is friends with Emery's character Lucas. He even shared a video straight from the set while he was filming a scene with Emery.
When does Alexa & Katie premiere?
Season One of the show, which consists of 13 episodes, is set to premiere on March 23, 2018, so mark your calendars. Now, excuse us while we sit and wait for the show to finally premiere – we can't wait!
