Camilizers, get ready. CC1 is coming and it finally has a name!
Camila Cabello has announced that the release of her first song will be on May 19 from her debut solo album, which she has titled the hurting the healing the loving. The singer began teasing her new music on Twitter over the weekend and then shared a letter with fans about the process of writing a particular song called "i have questions," which led her into writing the rest of her first album and admitted that she was "completely broken" at the time.
"the first song from my forthcoming album "the hurting the healing the loving" will come out on 5.19.17....the hurting the healing the loving" is the story of my journey from darkness into light, from a time when i was lost to a time when i found myself again," she said.
"The story behind the album starts with the second song that you'll hear called 'I have questions' which I started writing in a hotel bathroom on tour a little over a year ago. i was completely broken during that time, i was in the kind of pain that's uncomfortable to talk about, and it was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud."
"i couldn't write another song for 6 months because writing meant i had to feel everything, and i wasn't ready to do that yet. so when i graduated from hotel bathrooms to studios to make my first album, i was making music about everything BUT what i was going through, it was like a secret burning on my tongue and for some reason i could not get myself to say it.
She continued on to say that after a while, she could not run anymore and started writing a lot of sad songs that began the process of her healing and noticed herself getting tired of the sad lyrics and started writing happier songs.
Wow! This album is definitely real and while we do not know what exactly she was going through at the time, it might be in relation to how unhappy she was with Fifth Harmony or perhaps something super personal.
The song will be dropping at the end of the week and she is set to perform at the Billboard Music Awards and time could not move fast enough.
