Unless you are totally living under a rock, "Closer" by The Chainsmokers and Halsey is a song you just cannot escape from. Not only is it an absolute jam – but the hit tune also won three categories at the 2017 Billboard Awards, a Myx Music Award for "Favorite International Video" and an iHeartRadio Music Award for "Dance Song of the Year." Not to mention, it totally skyrocketed to the top of the charts. But what if we told you Halsey wasn't originally set to sing on the track. That's right – another songstress was actually set to be featured on "Closer." Who was it, you ask? None other than the one and only Camila Cabello.
Yep, Camila went as far as recording a demo for the track. But as it turned out, she had to turn it down because of Fifth Harmony commitments she had to follow through with. Given the fact that she has since parted ways with the girl groups leads us to believe she is just a teeny bit sad she passed up this song that totally set the music world on fire. But really, we wouldn't be surprised if Camila regrets turning this down just a tad bit – you know, considering the fact that the song literally took over the world and all. But hey, we always have Camila's new single "Crying the Club" on repeat these days, so we're not complaining.
